During the Vietnam conflict a fighter jet lost control at altitude and after the pilot ejected the plane recovered from its spin on its own, and "landed" itself without any major damage. It was in such good condition that it was able to fly again.
 
It is called positive dynamic stability. Some aircraft are designed to do that. Others are designed to stay in whatever messed up attitude the pilot put it in. Some will not hold their attitude without constant pilot correction.

Fair enough. Still pretty remarkable that it landed like it did.
