I thought this was a generally good film. It was fairly subtle and didn't try to do what was typical in education films. That and I am going into education, so I suppose I had to have an added bias.

I couldn't have said it better myself. The French have a certain way of conveying what's REAL in life, not some fantasia happy ending like Hollywood films. I believe people can learn a lot from this film. When I first saw this film, I too was on the path towards education. But even though I've taken a different path, I still love this film.

Well probably because education movies either focus on the teacher, who either greatly succeeds or greatly fails or focus on the students who greatly succeed. A lot of the time, it would be difficult to say just what it was that happened in real life.
