The [Character] Assassination of Charlie Kirk

I think some folks need to go and head to their nearest Starbucks and order themselves some tea.

Get his name put on the cup.

Really own the libs 😂
Not safe to do. Knowing the politics of most baristas (womyn’s studies majors, etc), they would probably spit in the cup or worse.

I don't believe that anyone deserves to die just for being a fascist or a Nazi, and I don't personally know anyone else who believes that either.
We killed lots of Nazis in WWII. Were we wrong to do that? Did they deserve to live? All you are doing is admitting that the whole fascism stuff is just political rhetoric that you know isnt actually true.

So, why the one way street outrage? (The question you keep tap dancing around.)
And we're back to another straw-man.

The subject of this thread is Kirk. My willingness to remain on topic does not speak to what I do and do not object to regarding other matters.

You're arguing in bad faith, Orphan'.

If I believed that people deserved to die solely because of their beliefs, wouldn't that undermine the entire principle behind fighting WWII in the first place?

I wasn't a Kirk fan, but the lies and distortions told about him in the wake of his death are disgusting.

Mark

......and the resident Leftists here have gone into overdrive calling people Nazis, maggots and Fascists to help ensure there are more killings.

Instead of toning down the rhetoric of hatred, they have increased it. It is most intentional.

Calling someone a Nazi, maggot, or fascist, is not nearly enough to convince the average person to commit murder.

So you're mad because you're starting to think the MAGAs don't have a lock on stochastic terrorism?

So…no freedom of speech?

It’s so hard to keep track of what is/isn’t allowed.

Is there a checklist of speech you’d like to see made illegal that isn’t currently?

Yup. The left keeps saying that and then when people are assassinated, the response is “we didn’t really mean that”.
You mean like Trump's "second amendment people" bit?

"Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish the Second Amendment," Trump said to the crowd of supporters gathered in the Trask Coliseum at North Carolina University in Wilmington. "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks.

"Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is. I don't know."

-Donald Trump, 9/9/2015

True. But there seems to be quite a few “not average” people on the left.

Asking for sincerity is not strawman, you are literally making that up.

The subject of this thread is not just Kirk, no matter how much you claim otherwise.

And since you cannot show contempt for how Kirk spoke of opposition, we have no choice but to consider you subject to conditional outrage.

The Growing Threat of Political Violence From the Left

The Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), a nonpartisan organization that studies the spread of hate, manipulation, and extremism across digital platforms, has raised these concerns recently. Based at Rutgers University, the group uses machine learning and data analytics to identify emerging threats and ideological patterns online.

"We're witnessing the alarming rise of what the NCRI calls an 'assassination culture,'" said Max Horder of the NCRI, in an interview with Newsweek. "Violence targeting figures like Donald Trump or Elon Musk has gone beyond normalization—it's being sanctified as resistance by parts of the political left."

A recent survey conducted by the NCRI found that nearly one-third of respondents expressed some level of justification for acts of lethal political violence, with significantly higher support among those identifying as left-of-center.

Oh no.

Maybe they’ll start buying guns.

You are all about folks having more access to guns, right?

"The [Character] Assassination of Charlie Kirk "

Gaslighting really isn't your thing.

Yes, you absolutely have a choice: a choice to stay on topic and discuss this OP. But no, you won't, because you know you'll be on shaky ground if you do.

At least you've switched debate fallacies to accuse me of, so there's that.

Tell me again why Kirk's own words are off limits? (Other than you cannot bring yourself to condemn them.)

Give it a try, what have I failed to answer? (Given your self-issued authority to tell us what this thread is and is not about.)

None of Krik's words are off limits, and trying to pretend the objection comes from merely criticizing Kirk is yet another straw-man.

As I said earlier, for some reason, you're just not willing to have an honest discussion on this subject.

Give me an example of something Kirk said and I'll give you my opinion on it. I'm not going to start scanning videos just to satisfy your need to derail this thread.

Yes, opinions can be wrong. Is that really a bone of contention here?

No, I would say one can disagree without being disagreeable. I take no issue with anyone who says "I didn't agree with much of what Charlie Kirk said." To go further and call him a "disgusting person" or the like is an attempt to dehumanize him, and that's exactly that sort of hyperbole that likely radicalized Tyler Robinson.

Kirk engaged in hyperbole and his statement on Biden is disgusting and can be reasoned it's inspiring radicalized behavior against the left.
