SILVER BELL recorded by The Peerless Quartet on VICTOR Records in 1910 was a continuation of the American Indian themed novelty songs so popular during this time period.
 
WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH FATHER sung by Billy Murray is another one of a string of hits by this very prolific singer from the early infancy of recorded music. Here Mr. Murray sings a college song from the period that must have been very popular to come in at number 10 in 1910 on this VICTOR TALKING MACHINE Record.
Billy Murray would also record this song for the Edison Phonograph Company.

THAT MESMERIZING MENDELSSOHN TUNE (written in 1909 by Berlin) would be another popular ragtime hit with a classical flair, nonetheless, for Collins and Harlan in 1910 on VICTOR, EDISON, and COLUMBIA Records.
