I think we passed the tipping point a while back, exactly when is not as clear. I think before NOV2016.
disclaimer: I’ve always been a half empty kind of person….
Mens rea is the mental element of a person's intention to commit a crime; or knowledge that one's action or lack of action would cause a crime to be committed.Mens rea. There was always intent to overturn the election (that’s a coup).

i believe the beginning was the failure to prosecute nixon
instead giving him a blanket pardon for wrongdoing known and unknown
the intent was noble: preserve the dignity of the office of president of the USA
but notice where we are now relative to such 'dignity'
IMO Merrick Garland is bending WAY over backwards to not make his DOJ appear to belong in a Banana Republic.*Trump murders troop of Girl Scouts with flame thrower*
DOJ: “Okay okay fine, we’ll open an investigation…into his unpaid parking ticket from 1998.”
WTF is going on over there?
I heard he turned off his phone. But does it seem likely if he has a smart phone that he can't use a computer? I read once a long time ago that he forbid his employees to use email though. Doesn't seem possible, but maybe not for important stuff.Trump is said to have never used a computer. Has that ever been verified and has there been a reason from Trump as to the why? Anyone else think it strange that a son would have to reach his father through the CoS?
It is like anything, it starts out with something small, (relative to today,) and slowly it gets chipped away. As norms were breached, it picked up speed. In the last ten years it has been like the snowball that picks up mass on its way downhill, becoming heavier and faster and much harder to slow or stop.i believe the beginning was the failure to prosecute nixon

Yes. And the Executive Branch has gotten more and more powerful relative to the other branches of government. There is little separation of powers as the Constitution laid out because Congress is not enacting its role.It is like anything, it starts out with something small, (relative to today,) and slowly it gets chipped away. ….or the boil the frog analogy…
They spend too much time pan-handling and lying……..I quit House of Cards a few years back because I thought the plot lines were too far fetched……..Yes. We have multiple paths, we control themSure looks like the investigation is getting awful close to Trump himself.

Donald Trump Jr. texted Mark Meadows ideas on how to overturn the 2020 election: report
Donald Trump Jr., former President Donald Trump's eldest son, texted then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows ideas to overturn the 2020 results before most major news networks had called the election, according to a CNN report published Friday.
"It's very simple," Trump Jr. wrote in a text message to Meadows on November 5, 2020, two days before the major news networks declared Joe Biden the winner. "We have multiple paths We control them all."
The messages are part of a trove of records being examined by the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol siege, CNN reported.
Ah noYeah, and that's one reason I'm getting pretty fed up with Biden. He constantly talks about what a threat Putin is to world peace, but he needs to be talking A LOT more about the threat posed by the Republican Party here at home. Before it's too late.
The problem is Biden has spent most of his political career being cordial and friendly with Republicans, but this is not the Republican Party of 20 - 30 years ago.
Everybody says that about everything new that comes out. Looking at it as an individual incident, maybe there is nothing illegal. But when taken in the total context of what went on since just before the election, it may be part of a larger conspiracy.Completely unsurprising that jr would be involved. I don’t see anything in the article that would put himself or his father in legal jeopardy though.
Knee jerk opinion.
January 6th was the real world result of Trump attempting to corrupt the election. What was the real world result of the election that you feel was so corrupted?
Ah no
Biden was warning America 2016-2020 not to trust Putin.
The other guy was kissing Putins arse
He may be past his expiration date.Who gets an indictment first, if at all, Meadows or the most recent House referrals, Scavino, Navarro.
IIRC, Meadows referral was over three months ago……

That's the "real world" result and it happened because Trump was trying to corrupt our election.January 6 was a demonstration got out of hand.
It was a demonstration of a plan that had been made a long time ago by President Trump and his close advisers to keep him in power although he had lost the majority of electoral votes in the 2020 presidential election. The plan failed.January 6 was a demonstration got out of hand.
Sure looks like the investigation is getting awful close to Trump himself.

One year statute of limitations on a contempt referral. He may be past his expiration date.

I don't say that because I hate Trump. I say it because it's true.
