They would certainly have an incentive to not commit a future crimes that would put them in the same unpleasant conditions.
Maybe lack of AC would lower the recidivism rate for criminals let out of prison.
But criminals are not very smart so I doubt it.

I saw them suffering with the heat. But through my good luck and law-abiding nature, I got to walk out of there thankful I wasn't stupid enough to choose a life of a criminal.

41 people have died as a result of what the State of Texas is doing. Your denials do not change that.

This topic is about the people in prison being trapped in conditions that can kill them.
They can't just move to another room or go somewhere in the shade as that's kind of the whole point of prison.

Look, we've had prisons for thousands of years and some of those prisons were in stupid hot places. Texas has had prisons for a couple of hundred years and most of those years there was no air conditioning. People survived back then and they'll survive today. There is a key to dealing with heat and that's keeping hydrated. Even at 45°C you're not going to die if you keep hydrated.
