I dared not get my hopes up, but the rumors were true and its available for download now. Oblivion was the game that made me fall in love with video games (and Bethesda too i guess...love/hate tbh) and I cant wait to dive back into a game that I probably havent played in over a decade

Oh thank god they kept the horse armor.

Typical Bethesda move, shocking it took this long with how many versions of Skyrim there are.

This I'll pass on. Maybe not if it were like GTAV, which recently released their remastered version and it's free for people that own GTAV already. I own Skyrim about 4 times and Oblivion 2 and Morrowind 2, but I'm not spending money on them again. Oblivion still looks pretty good on PC these days, and graphics mods exist for free.

I loved Morrowind and I was totally blown away when Oblivion came out. But no...I can't see spending $50 on a 20 year old game...even if it does have better graphics.

I will gladly spend the money just for the thrill of playing it again...and hey, gameplay and leveling are supposedly re-worked as well as better graphics. I think they even did some more voice acting so that NPCs dont all sound the same. But as with any Bethesda game, I will wait a little while for the inevitable issues to get sorted out

The son is very excited, bless. I may get just to hear the theme tune again.

One of my favorite Youtubers (Gopher) had a stream up today if anyone want's to check out what it looks like.

Looks amazing.

So I woke up early today, and watching a video playthrough from a youtuber I follow. I learned from that that leveling is changed. Leveling up skills gives you XP towards leveling your character, major skills the most, then minor, then other skills. When you gain enough XP you level, and you get 12 points to spend on stats. Probably a better system, but not sure. Also, it looks largely great.

It looks like its on gamepass so I will probably check it out.

I would love a Morrowind remake though.

Gopher is a big Youtuber making his bones on Fallout/Skyrim. Probably in his mid-50's, so not one of these wild and crazy young YT'ers.

In the video above he supposes that the Oblivion Remaster is a test bed for Skyrim VI. Which is currently in development now that Starfield had been delivered and is post release.

A test platform for integrating their game engine with the visuals available in Unreal Engine 5 for graphics. So while the new Skyrim is in design phase for story, character design, enemies, etc. - this was a technical proof of concept.

And it looks damn good right now.
