What he is really talking about is this:
Senate Will Vote On Constitutional Amendment To Roll Back Campaign Finance Decisions

Great job Mr Cruz. way to inflate emotions about an amendment that has nothing to do with repealing the 1st and everything to do with getting big money out of politics. Do you even care about the 1st Mr Cruz?
Or are you puppet masters doing everything they can, including making you look absolutely ridiculous, to ensure their influence at the highest levels?

Fear mongering isn't a strong enough term. Such is politics though. When you're trying to take back the Senate, why paint your opposition as anything but sinister?

Cruz is desperately trying to regain relevancy after being exposed as a nut job by his own previous actions....and is forced to watch the Tea Party demise along with his own.

I have to laugh. I love the way Cruz talks about an Amendment to Roll Back Finance Decisions as killing the First Amendment. It's about controlling the amount of money being spent, Ted Cruz, not about controlling speech

Money is speech, lol.

Learn to republican.

This buffoon is tipping the GOPs hand by revealing how dependent they feel they are on big corporate money for survival.

American's spend less on politics then on tooth paste or pizza. The issue for you and the other leftist isn't "money in politics" its money used on political speech you don't like. Limiting what one can spends on political presentations and speech is an affront to our way of life in America if we want to remain a free country. If you want to live in a place where you can say whatever you want but not spend a dime to tell anyone what you said try North Korea - have fun with that.

I'm sorry but could you please explain that. Your comment made no sense to me.

In republican land, money is speech.

Ergo, any bill that curtails the flow money curtails free speech.

As usual, Ted is correct.

What you and Ted fail to understand that proposing a Constitutional amendment and ratifing a Constitutional amendment are not the same actions.

If the American people ratify any proposed Constitutional amendment, then the PEOPLE of America have spoken...regardless what Ted Cruz thinks.

Yeah. You're right. It's like a company is a person and not a thing.

Ted has a problem. Rick Perry is popular and a standing Govenor. He has to distinguish himself as "El mas Texan".

Cue all the teabaggers to ignore one of their basic principles

Tea Party Movement Platform

9. Avoid the Pitfalls of Politics - American politics is burdened by big money from lobbyists and special interests with an undue influence on the peoples’ representatives. The Tea Party movement is seen as a threat to the entrenched political parties and thus is the continual target of smear campaigns and misrepresentation of its ideals. We choose not to respond to these attacks except to strongly and explicitly disavow any and all hate speech, any and all violence as well as insinuations of violence, and any and all extreme and fringe elements that bring discredit to the Tea Party Movement. We are a peaceful movement and respect other's opinions and views even though they do not agree with our own. We stand by the Tea Party beliefs and goals and choose to focus our energies on ensuring that our government representatives do the same.

The Democrats have their own big money sources. Usually Republicans are so very complimentary toward Unions, Hollywood, etc....NOT.

While I tend to agree that a person should be free to spend as much as they want on a political campaign, it's not like only one side hates the speech exercised by the other.

Money laws in politics are like gun control laws. The criminals don't respect them anyway. If we want to get money out of politics (which I think is a good goal), we have to stop voting for the Democrats and Republicans.

Then do so.

When Bernie Sanders runs for POTUS vote for him. It only has to be for 4 years. Teach both parties a lesson like Ventura did in Minnesota.

If money is speech then there's an awful lot of people without a voice.

Speaking of Ventura, he might run. I'll vote for him if he does.
