I too am taking the thread seriously. The thread is about Ted Cruz attempting to assert the presence of a regrown backbone after he ripped his out in supplication to his cult leader. I posit that it has not yet grown back.

Sen. Ted Cruz(R-Texas) said that the former chief medical adviser to the president, Dr. Anthony Fauci, should face criminal charges for “lying under oath” to Congress about the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cruz made his arguments at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland. “There has been no person who has done more to destroy trust in the scientific and medical community than Dr. Anthony Fauci who told millions of Americans lies willingly, knowingly, glibly, supremely arrogantly,” Cruz said.


Cruz’s arguments came just days after the Department of Energy (DOE) concluded with “low confidence” that Covid-19 most likely came from a lab in Wuhan, China. On Tuesday FBI Director Christopher Wray reiterated that his agency agreed with the Department of Energy’s conclusion, albeit still with “low confidence.”

Other intelligence agencies are either undecided or believe that the previously accepted story, that Covid-19 came from human to animal transmission, is most likely.

In April 2020, Fauci did claim that the “lab leak” theory was “a shiny object that will go away soon.” He later claimed that it was “molecularly impossible” that the viruses being worked on in the Wuhan lab could have evolved into the pathogen that led to the pandemic. When grilled by Republicans in Congress over “lab leak theory,” Fauci said that their language had “a distinct anti-science flavor.”

When confronted last week with the DOE’s decision to identify “lab leak” as the most probable Covid-19 origin story, however, Fauci urged Americans to keep “an open mind” and that “we may never know” the pandemic’s origin.

While the DOE surely embarrassed Fauci, there is no proof as of now that he had any prior knowledge of any evidence supporting the theory that Covid-19 originated from a lab.

How convenient - Ted Cruz wanted to abolish the DOE and thought the FBI needed a thorough house cleaning but now he trusts them 100% to believe some low confidence reports and jail someone over it.

You see, the rest of us can't take the lefts 'shoot the messenger' approach to debating a topic. It's a weak deflection that we will continue to call out. Prove the content wrong and you also achieve the goal of shooting the messenger. Why not try that approach for once?

The race for the Republican nomination appears to be a competition of who can focus the most opposition to the leadership of Democrats, with no regard to logical proposals for what the nation should do to make America greater.

No. I was keeping up with the news, and I really began paying attention when that young doctor died. I was horrified that flights out of Wuhan continued. Those in power in China have no respect for human life; all they care about for its own sake is power. I ordered masks and gloves and Microban in February of 2020 and began self-isolating in early March. I still stay home a lot. Not because of my faith or my gut but because I have common sense. My immune system has been compromised since 2005, and I have taken sensible precautions since because duh. Any other embarrassing questions that you thought were "snarky" that I can answer for you?

There's no reasonable discussion to be had, when it starts off with already such a unbelievably ridiculous premise.
 
In the end WHO CARES where it originated, it came! and it stayed! And instead of taking it seriously, the orange skidmark said it "will just disappear". But it didn't. And it killed over 1 million people. So lets blame a doctor who has dedicated 50 years of his life to stopping the spread of infectious diseases; that's beyond stupid. And the blob fish Cruz is a crack pot who's done what exactly for this country? He's another wanna-be-relevant just like Jordan.
