Tactial nukes to Belarus

If Russia is so irrational and suicidal to actually use a nuke against Ukraine, then we absolutely need to intervene to push such an irrational actor back.

Too bad most Americans don’t share your willing to sacrifice millions of lives for a country we have no formal obligations to ;)

I guarantee most Americans don’t want there to be an irrational suicidal nation with insane leadership throwing nuclear weapons around and will want something done about it. Regardless of if we have any obligations to the country they nuked.

Yes, most Americans don’t want to sacrifice New York or DC for Ukraine. That is both irrational and suicidal.

A Russia irrational and insane enough to nuke a non-nuclear power because they are losing a war is irrational and insane enough to nuke New York or DC anyways.

Which only further demonstrates why the US wouldn’t be dumb enough to attack them, and any president who tried would find himself abruptly out of a job.

It’s dumb to not stop an insane irrational power that is mass murdering people for no reason?

When nuke using Russia invades the Baltics and uses nukes there, do we back down again?

No, we invade Russia. They wouldn’t dare use nukes again! 🙄😂

So pieces of paper make it okay in your mind for millions of Americans to die?

Yep, that’s how treaties have always worked.

As previously stated, whether it’s worth it is another story entirely.

So it’s not national interests that matter, just pieces of paper?

You’re entire argument has been about “worth”.

Usually countries react poorly to other countries not following those pieces of paper, in case you hadn’t noticed.

And as I’ve made very clear, the idea of it being worth it is questionable to begin with.

What would the Baltic states be able to do about it if we didn’t follow their pieces of paper?

Yes, I get that you are a pro-Russia isolationist.

Nothing. That’s the risk of trusting a superpower. You could easily make the case that countries shouldn’t trust a superpower with their national defense, particularly one as fickle as the US, but that’s another story.

“As fickle as the US”, when has the US ever refused to answer the call of one of its Allies, treaty or no treaty?

The Kurds have been repeatedly stabbed in the back by the US despite helping us over, and over, and over again

You might cry “but they weren’t a formal ally”, which is true.....but neither is Ukraine..

What nation are the Kurds again?

Ah, so by that standard Taiwan is not a nation, right?

They aren’t. That is correct. Taiwan is a breakaway province of the PRC.

However, our national interest is in making sure China does not invade their rebellious province.

Which makes it a nation, especially since the people there have only not formally declared total independence because China will invade if they do.
