"SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

Yeah, they make up 13% of the population but 25% of the dead victims of police. Has nothing to do with racism. Most of them were killed by black police officers. 95+% of those victims of police were male. Has nothing to do with sexism of the police.

to know the real percentage..how many of those killings were not justified? That is what we need to really look at and then we can talk. If a person actually tries to kill a police officer, that is a justified reason for the officer to use deadly force. If the guy has a fake 20, that is not a justified reason to kill someone.

It does have to do with inequality and unequal protection of the laws in our at-will employment States.

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

We need to bring an end to the sexism of the police and justice system that leads to men being 93% of the prisoners. EQUALITY FOR ALL!

Can you show that women are as likely to commit violent crime? btw, I am against incarceration for drug possession or minor drug offenses. That would lower our incarceration rates by half.

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

So then the cops weren't justified wrre they?

Neither I nor anyone else here is claiming they are justified. You kicked the **** outta that strawman.

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

So death penalty by way of denial of due process justified?
.

Nope, you have sufficiently and mightily slayed the strawman. Let it go.

No can you show that whites are as likely to commit violent crime?

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

that was a new information for me. one for sure, a person with such criminal records ´d avoid conflicts with law-enforcement, not just in USA but literally everywhere in the world . its very dangerous

"The Houston Chronicle reports that 13 years ago, Floyd was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon - citing Harris County Court records....In 2009, Floyd served a five-year prison sentence as part of a plea deal on the 2007 charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, reports the Houston Chronicle."

Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

can somebody verify this George Floyd crime record list?

qzuuvsdW-CM.jpg
So which crime on that list makes it ok for a cop to keep a knee to his throat until he died and for minutes after that....making resuscitation post murder virtually impossible?

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

Nope, you have sufficiently and mightily slayed the strawman. Let it go.

Which strawman?

The only legal justification to apply the tactics used would be if Mr. Floyd was unrestrained and/or armed.
He was none of those things and all they had to do was close the car door.

Respond to this, please.

Unequal protection of the laws for unemployment compensation in our at-will employment States is immoral and unethical in our first world economy and Republic. How many women would feel the need to prostitute themselves if they could apply for unemployment compensation instead?

what laws would that be?

what in the holy **** does unemployment have to do with this topic?

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

blacks are something like seven times more likely to commit murder than whites as well.

In some areas yes. But the breakdown of the Black American family has brought much of this about. When you have over 70% of births of black babies being born to single mothers, it is a sentence for a life of poverty that those kids struggle to break out of. These kids don't have a father in their lives. Many of them know the role of the father as Uncle Sam. The males don't have a father figure to teach them how to be a man! The girls do not experience the first love of their life as their father to teach them self respect and worth. This is not a problem the government can resolve. It must come from within the black communities.

Oh come on-spending thousands of the taxpayers' dollars on painting "BLACK LIVES MATTER" on a main street in DC will help with all that.

Good question, he does this on other threads that have nothing to do with this comment of his.

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

If George Floyd made amends for any crime with prison time, then he paid his debt to society.

You sure seem very interested in smearing his name. Are you a racist Litwin?

Don't think you really need to even ask.

The strawman that ANYONE here has argued that Floyds death penalty was justified. I did say you can let it go now.

Re: "SYSTEMIC RACISM" Did George Floyd have a criminal past and why was he stopped by police?

already did. The majority of prisoners are white.

"Likely" meaning you need to adjust for population. Whites are the majority of the population

Nope, don't need to do any sort of thing...you asked who is more likely to commit a crime against you a black man or white man. If there are more white men in prison...then you are more likely to be a victim of a person who is white, committing a crime...those aren't done on percentages..but on real numbers.

When you don't provide links to your assertions, I'll just assume you made them up.

Just sayin'.

Just because you've not seen them.
That's your problem, DP myopia.

Anyway, you'd like to do us all a favor and respond to my question or are we going to see your dodge?

As I understand it, George Floyd was originally placed in the police car. He became claustrophobic and started thrashing about, so they brought him back outside, which is where the video everyone saw took place. I do not know if those are the true events, but that is what a few people on the forums have said. Either way, I agree with you that the homicide was in no way justified.
