Swallowing Sperm May Result in Safer Pregnancies

During pregnancy, it is not. Therefore, by your own logic, sex during pregnancy should be considered to be sinful as well.

The Church doesn't teach that, so your argument clearly fails.

Beyond which, you have "demonstrated" absolutely nothing. You have only blindly asserted your own personal beliefs.

I'm a lapsed Catholic but doesn't the fact that the church endorses any form of birth control - the "rhythm method" in this case - conclusively prove that the church recognizes that sex is not just about procreation?

Again, it has never been defined. The Church has left the matter intentionally vague, precisely so people like yourself cannot seek to regiment the limits of the act for others.

They have simply set the caveat that love, within the sacred confines of marriage, rather than lust, should be the major end of sexuality, and that the procreative element of sexuality should remain intact and undisturbed.

Again, oral sex does not necessarily prevent that.

Thankfully, that is only your opinion, with no hard doctrine backing it up.

God would not have made things to function in a certain way, to a certain benefit, if he did intend for them to be used in that way.

Says who?

Besides, as I pointed out earlier, if the act could be shown to serve a useful purpose which works towards the purposes of procreation, it wouldn't be "sodomy" any more in the first place.

I'm not the one presuming to speak in absolutes where mother Church does not.

Remind me again, who is the "heretic" here?

I just wanted to say how amused I am that you are debating with someone because they are more traditional than you are

Pretty much. The emotional and spiritual union between man and wife is just as important.

It would appear that someone up there has a sense of humor.

Teach me this miraculous talent, O great and wise one!

It's really not that hard (no puns intended), just time consuming. You first have to manage to get out of the idea, even subconsciously, that it's not possible. After that it's a matter of training your body to not shut down after a climax. Use of a milking machine (no not the kind used on cows) can also be helpful. Mind you as males we don't have the quantity potential that females do, but we aren't limited to one either. Anything more on this start a new thread and PM me.

Or you could just wait twenty minutes.

If you're not adverse to snuggling up afterwards, it tends to happen pretty organically, in my experience.

Consequentalism is of course, nonsensical. The natural moral laws regarding sexuality flow from human nature. I think you understand why it is that the act of oral sex does not fulfill the nature of the sexual act.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, because oral sex alone, if it doesn't lead to intercourse, DOESN'T result in reproduction. At least that's the "reasoning" behind the Catholic Church labeling oral sex a "sin." It assigns the same label to masturbation, and all forms of what it calls "artificial birth control."

Such nonsense is one of the many reasons I tossed the oppressive doctrines of religions and churches out the door decades ago. It's wonderful how much freedom people have when they aren't mentally shackled by oppressive religious doctrines.
