What kind of work are you looking for? Are you willing to do ANY kind of [legal] work?
 
I'm willing to do what I am trained to do. Customer service, bill collector. Right now, writing is paying the bills. I have a project I'm working on now which just paid August rent, so I am headed in the right direction for being self-employed.

Then I'm not sure what you're worried about...

If the writing thing goes to the crapper, what would you be willing to do?
 
I was in a place where the writing wasn't paying the bills. Everything my partners and I turned our hand to didn't happen. Fell through for whatever reason. Then, right when I told God I'd be home on August 7th whether he was ready or not, an old business partner got with me and offered a new project. I leaped at it, and he gave me an advance on my efforts so I could pay the rent.

I'm going to keep going with what I am doing, which guarantees my income for the next couple of months. Plus by then, what I am doing with my partners will have taken off. We've already done several months of fighting this battle. We have to get through sometime.

Why are you asking? Because I don't want to go there. I've already been there. It's a defeatist place and I'm not going to cross that bridge until I come to it.

You confuse me. You say that you were considering suicide or prostitution, but you refuse to consider any other line of work? Why do you immediately jump to such extreme solutions while ignoring simple, safe solutions?
 
I applied everywhere for months. I sought work for months. I got to that point after all other options had been examined. I am no longer at that point, hence my refusal do go along with your train of thought.
