She started taking shooting lessons this summer, she said, because "whichever way this election goes, it could get really scary, and it could get bloody."

With the pandemic pitting mask-wearers against mask protesters, and police-brutality protests sparking violent street clashes, "I just feel like it's a powder keg," she said. "I want to be armed and dangerous."

Bailey Beeken, 61, who lives in Riverdale, New York and describes herself as a white, politically liberal, middle-class woman.

Looks like she's concerned about right wing people.

Another woman said she's having trouble buying shells for her new shotgun at Walmart. Walmart is always out of ammo.

Have you bought a gun in the last year or two?

If true, that's too bad.

Why? It has long been clear that law-abiding citizens cannot trust police to protect them. What in your view is wrong with exercising one's Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms?

This is a total crock designed to get page views. The only violence is BLM and Antifa, and a handful of whites, that the entire group can be easily handled if it gets violent if authorities don’t stand down.
Bullshit sells well.

Shooting lessons for a shotgun? Sheeiiitttt!

What a shame that people are so afraid of some kind of civil war that they need to go out and buy a gun.

Try using your brain for protection. That's why we have one.

I am thinking of getting an M&P Shield EZ 9mm in the next couple of months or so

Won't be my first gun though

I am going to presume you are having a bad morning and are not in a mood for discussion. Have a good day, dave.

I'm not going over the BS that every gun control thread goes through.

I repeat, if true, what a shame people think they need to buy a gun to get through the aftermath of this election.

Perfectly reasonable. There is little to fear except fear itself. And a handful of statue-toppling rioters and some murderous, racist agent-provocateurs I suppose.

Yes I can agree whichever way it goes it would be good to be prepared. Yeah I well be armed, but this dangerous? Only if need be.

I got one for Lady Bum last winter.....she loves it; very light, easy for her to rack the slide ( she has small hands and wrists), and a lot less recoil than her old Taurus PT 908.

Good investment.

If you don't want to go over "the bs" why bother replying at all?

Ever try a Stoeger? Assuming serrations are the problem.

What did you get if you dont mind asking. Lady Chill thought she really wanted the 709. Santa brought her one and now she isn't happy with it. Too snappy for her. I don't dare tell her told you so.

We got it for $235 with the PT 908 trade in; came with 2 mags, cleaning kit, and a carry case.......they average $450 - 500....She opted for the model without the thumb safety.

It was a combination of spring, weight, and width.....the M&P 9mm is lighter, thinner, and easier to rack the slide.....and a very manageable recoil.

several;-the last being a CZ Custom AO-1 competition pistol. And before that one of the SW shield EZ rack =basically to teach older people who see that pistol as a god send because its easy to rack and if you have arthritis, its a great gun. Ammo is hard to find. I used to be able to buy 1000 rounds of 9mm for about 180 Now, places I used to buy this ammo from-are rarely able to have it in stock, and some have just listed it at 350 a thousand. So I am not buying 9mm. What I have bought is over 10,000 Berrys or Frontier Bullets. I have lots of primers and powder and I am loading tons of 9mm. I also have over 5,000 cast bullets (which are far easier to get since they are much easier to make than jacketed or plated bullets) So every other day, I load 150-200 bullets. Some I use for my weekly steel leagues, but most are put into surplus ammo cans for storage. Because if Biden wins, ammo will be even harder to get because between November, and time he enters office, people will be buying like crazy

very good guns for the money. The slide is easy to rack-an elderly couple-athletic but arthritic, cannot rack the slides on a GLOCK 17 or the Beretta APX, but they can easily rack the slide of the the EZ Shield. Some will find the grip safety an issue-and that may be a detriment to some who don't grip the gun high and tight. The triggers are decent and I find them very reliable

Smart people know the future is unwritten- so know your rights. One of those rights is the right to keep and bear arms.
