State university faculty, students to be surveyed on beliefs - DeSantis going all in...

I apologize, as I believed your depth of understanding was deeper than it apparently actually is. You do know that if the inspector general asked me a question, I was obligated to respond, truthfully, whether I wanted to or not, if I intended to keep my job.
The government could not force me to respond to such a question but I had to make the choice whether to respond and keep my job or not respond and exercise my first amendment and lose my job

This is not about your boss asking you a question. Since I have no idea what your job was, it sounds like it might regard legality, yeah, you would be obliged to answer or face charges even, perhaps. That does not negate anything I said about students not having to take a survey...

Huh? Are you thinking about the 5th Amendment - self incrimination? Your employer can force you to take all kinds of surveys and force you to participate in all kinds of bullshit that you don't want to.

They cannot ask about your religious beliefs or mandate religious observance.

This is a blatant violation of free speech as well. Those schools are there to teach objective facts and not to further conservative political ideas.

They can ask you questions that pertain to your employment... but even those they can not force you to answer unless it is in your employment contract.

520+ what? The Florida 529 plan is a college savings plan that parents can start for their child. It locks in the rate for the year that they start paying into it while they make monthly payments to the program. I started one for my son when he was 6 months old so when he starts college in a couple of years his tuition is paid for and locked in at 2004 rates regardless what the current tuition is.

In regard to the faculty and staff - the questions are wholly about their workplace.
