Trump’s FCC successfully strong armed ABC to agree to censorship by the state.

A person with trump’s particular disability is predictable in one very important aspect. If you succumb to him once, he will want you to do it again.
And again.
And again.
He will never get enough to satisfy him.

We are heading down, folks. This is not good for the US.

This is something hard to believe --- the claim is that one sentence from Kimmel claiming, with evidence based on what was known at that time, that a killer was "right-wing" rather than "left-wing" ... that's supposed to shut down a network?

It seems like a combination of outside and inside issues, since that network is controlled by the new Richest Man who is aligned with Trump.

Does anyone have a clue what their notion of comedy is? Seems like it's bound to involve somebody getting hurt, but I can't quite picture it.

And MAGA is fully-behind this. It wants authoritarianism, and authoritarianism that targets/punishes opposition.
 
Any regime that wants to establish totalitarian rule has to control the way the populace thinks, and root out all messages contrary to doctrine. There must be a transformation of culture, language, education and media to ensure ideological hegemony, or the regime will lose when subversive messages poison the minds of the masses against their rulers.

There isn't much.
FCC authority is limited to over the air (OTA) broadcasting on the public airwaves ONLY.
In other words, if you receive TV via streaming, cable or satellite, it is a PRIVATE SUBSCRIBER service and not under FCC jurisdiction.

Know how many viewers rely on antennas these days?
About eight percent. And most of those are likely Trump voters, who can't afford cable or satellite and don't have good enough broadband for streaming.

Stations SHOULD be calling FCC's bluff, most of America wouldn't even notice if the transmitters got shut down, and stations would have a much smaller electric bill because transmitters use a lot of power, all to spew RF energy into the atmosphere where almost NO ONE receives it anymore.

Watching the left get all outraged over this when they were just fine with the Biden FBI pressuring Facebook to censor posts about Hunter Biden and MAGA acting like this is perfectly normal and yet were up in arms over Biden shows the extreme partisan bs that infects this country.



Both sides should have been upset over both what Biden did as well as what Trump is doing.
It’s either right or wrong. And the government getting involved in free speech is 100% wrong.

Impeach trump and remove him from office, and then start holding our elected officials to actual standards instead of making excuses based of partisan stupidity.

to call our cable company and demand xxxxx xxx xxxxxxxxx and so forth, right?

Okay so the stations need to inform their viewers ON ANTENNA that they may no longer be able to watch their
favorite channel due to FCC actions against the industry.
The only people affected by yanking a station license are people who only watch on antennas...about eight percent at most, and mostly Trump voters.
The FCC cannot shut down media networks and stations who stream and service cable and satellite audiences as those
are private subscriber networks.

They would realize their mistake when it begins to affect them and not before. It's not like Trump actually cares about anyone. All he cares about is power. When he gets to the point where he doesn't think he needs any more votes (and he is well on his way) he will come down very hard on anybody that gets in his way.

What difference does that make? The fact is the left created the FCC to license, control, and censor radio and tv stations. If the FCC didn't have the power to censor, then ABC would have sued. If you support licensing, then you support censorship.
