Specifically - what is No Kings? Specific policies only.

Did you complain when Biden and Obama acted with overreach? Did you say they both disgraced America and Americans with their executive overreach? Or did you save up all that anger specifically for Trump?
Frankly, I'm appalled by the Democrats' rules for thee but not for me double standards.
More appalling is you making this comment given the far broader overreach of this administration. As I mentioned earlier, a better position would be one about the continued growth of the Executive Branch's power and the ceding of power by Congress. This is not a double standards issue because Trump has taken the Project 2025 play of expanding the Executive much further than any past president has.

It doesn't seem you bothered to research this in the context of Executive Orders issued by president, because if you had bothered to look, the numbers paint a pretty interesting picture:

Currently Trump already has more EOs since Eisenhower (thus far), and has blown past any of the presidents in the past 40 years. Mind you, he's only a few months into his second term so we're not sure of what the final tally will be. Trump is only 18 EOs from eclipsing the total number of EOs of Obama and Biden, and Obama served two terms.

That makes about as much sense as "No Kings"
Sounds like MAGA are triggers people dared protest their idol.
A few MAGA came out to the protests and brandished guns at protesters...simply for expressing their 1A.
Why do some MAGA despise the 1A?

No, the real world sees exactly what the anti-Trump Democrats are.

G3uI5AlXQAATcbv
Notice this MAGA clown is just that.

Renaming cabinets is done by a vote from Congress. He used an EO to rename (just for him and MAGA) Gulf of Mexico. This is also done by a Congressional vote.
Trump said "screw you!" and the sackless cuck giggled.

I don't mind EOs if they have a purpose. Trump has used well over 200 in his first 6 months in office. Not once has the sackless cuck told him he cannot.
So he renamed the Gulf of Mexico and that makes him a King?
It was originally called G of M because ancient mariners had to cross it to reach Mexica. The name stuck.
Changing it to a more modern name actually makes sense, but I personally could care less. It is Trump being Trump, he has an ego to fill.
But having an ego is not like running a monarchy,

It's amusing how confounded some are by the "No Kings" slogan and are taking it literally.
🤭

Renaming the Gulf of Mexico was a unilateral move, and not done through Congress the way it should nor through international consensus. This is why the term Gulf of Mexico still remains as the name the rest of the world knows it by.

If this were the only attempt of him acting unilaterally you'd have a point, but it's not. You'll notice in post #201that in his second term he's signed as many EOs as his entire first term and almost as many as Obama's two terms and Biden's term combined. Of course it's not just the EOs alone either, since he's also refusing to distribute funds Congress appropriated which is a violation of the duties Congress has over the purse.

Know what's appalling? This.

Former President Trump says the FBI should return documents seized from Mar-a-Lago, saying, "They should give me immediately back everything that they've taken from me because it's mine, it's mine. They took it from me--in the raid. They broke into my house."

King Trump. He owns everything. Everything is his. Documents for Trump, none for thee (without a 5 year sentence.)

Let's hear it - what specific policies leads to claims that Trump is like a King?
  • He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
  • He has endeavored to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither
  • For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world
  • For imposing taxes on us without our consent
  • For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses

Half truths, lies and misinformation doesn't count

Go.

Gatsby was the smartest among us so far in Postr #208 because it really is just a reread of the Declaration of Independence.
And as for the march being strictly Far Left Radical Democrats, the video footage negates that claim entirely.

Some of the reddest most MAGA states hosted sizeable protests, featuring a lot of very non-left farmers, ranchers, etc.

The Declaration of Independence is half truths, lies and misinformation?
Thanks for proving that your thread was nothing more than a giant chunk of flame-bait.

Why did the tea party call themselves that when there was no unrepresented tax on tea 😭

So just because we had a federal bureaucracy that was funded by Democrats (AFGE, AFCSME, AFL-CIO) playing political games on behalf of Democrats we MUST keep that bureaucracy? How would you feel about that if the federal bureaucracy opposed Democrats?

AFGE and AFL-CIO are independent of the government. I'm not sure you have understood what his executive order was about.

Are you trying to tell me that these unions aren't funded by and beholden to the democrat party? It's not direct tax dollars that are going to these unions but their members are damned sure Democrats and their funding damned sure supports Democrats. Furthermore, since a lot of these folks are working for the federal government and because their leadership is tied to the Democrat party and elected Democrats the policies of the unions tend to favor Democrat political policies and oppose Republican policies. We have created a government bureaucracy that is part and parcel of the Democrat party.

His tearing apart programs created by Congress
His impoundment of funds allocated by Congress,
His ignoring and threatening judges
His efforts to control education, the media, the legal profession and the markets
His militarization of society in order to tear apart our families and communities.
His politicalization of the military.
Which are non-answers to the points I brought up. I'm not interested in boilerplate.

There are jets. They work just fine. She doesn’t need new ones.
An unnamed DHS spokesperson told the Times the two jet purchases were “a matter of safety” and the Coast Guard’s existing jet used by Noem was more than 20 years old and “well beyond operational usage hours for a corporate aircraft.”

Turns out, they aren't.

Are you trying to tell me that these unions aren't funded by and beholden to the democrat party?

Yes, yes I am. The DNCC does not give any money at all to unions. The Unions donate to Democrats, but the unions are not funded in any manner by the political party.

I noticed (bolded) not all union members are Democrats. What you've written may have been true in the past with some partisan interpretation. However, go back to the post you quoted first and let's talk about the Commission that governs elections and the agency that governs commerce. Then let's talk about the Federal Reserve. These are agencies that had always been independent, but are now under white house control because of the required filings. Also the department heads are all trump loyalists. This is a result of the concentration of executive power stemming from the Executive Order. No other president has taken control of independent agencies and commissions.

You seem to struggle with the concept of "bureaucracy". The federal government is made up of MILLIONS of employees, the majority of whom are affiliated, especially through their unions, with Democrats. While it's being whittled down now there is an extensive history of these people opposing Republican objectives. Look at the Lois Lerner IRS scandal and everything that went on with the IC from 2016 until January of this year. Look at the State Department opposition to Trump during his first term. This Democrat aligned bureaucracy believes that THEY, not the elected officials and DEFINITELY not the Republican appointed department heads are the ones that decide and effect US policy and process.

I still don't think you understand what the EO was about. Independent agencies and commissions are no longer independent. The white house controls them now. The Federal Reserve has always been independent, and Trump intended to control it by fanciful indictments. We need a Securities and Exchange commission which was always independent, but no longer. The Federal Elections Commission could potentially allow Trump to control how the votes are counted. Trump is controlling these agencies and commissions in order to consolidate power and take authority away from them.

The firing of the 17 Inspectors General, and the refusal to replace them is a sign that trump rejects accountability
No other president fired any Inspectors General without replacing them. No other president has ordered control of the Federal Reserve, the SEC, FEC nor ended Congressional charter agencies.
This is abuse of the function of the executive order, because we need independent agencies and commissions in order to be able to trust our own government. Do you trust trump? I don't.

No other president has consolidated power and enjoyed total immunity and impunity as much as Trump has enjoyed capturing. Not by a long shot.

I stand corrected. I thought DOGE had essentially gutted the Board. It is diminished, though for sure.

It's amusing how confounded some are by the "No Kings" slogan and are taking it literally.

It is fascinating how many of those same people don't have a problem not taking Trump literally.
