Specifically - what is No Kings? Specific policies only.

That makes about as much sense as "No Kings"
OMG, he is STILL at it
Way back at comment #71 I already predicted he wouldn't be able to let this go...............
Like YOU have told us how upset YOU were about the protests but you need to rant about it all day long??? I bet my bottom dollar in a week from now you will still be posting about the protests and whining about them.
Yup, he is still at it. Yeesh. Some people need to get out and get some fresh air instead of sitting behind their keyboards whining all day long.
This is pathetic.
Ok, I dropped by for a minute, probably drop by again this evening just to see how many more comments this guy has dropped since now. Bet it will be dozens more.

Maybe if we gave examples they'd see the hypocrisy in the No Kings mantras.

Most of Biden's Covid mandates blocked by Supreme Court which affected millions, and were seen as coercive federal overreach.

Supreme Court ruled Biden's Student Loan forgiveness as unconstitutional. Despite that, Biden went ahead later and forgave $136B more through other channels.

Biden paused new leases on federal lands/waters and canceled Keystone XL, ignoring a court order to resume. He then proceeded to drain Strategic Petroleum Reserve to historic lows causing the price of gas to unaffordable levels.

Biden aimed to protect 30% of U.S. lands/waters by 2030 (UN/WEF-inspired), designating 1.5M acres without Senate confirmation for roles like John Podesta's "climate czar." Because he bypassed congress this was seen as a massive federal land grab.

Biden's DOJ and FBI targeted parents at school boards, hence, he was criticized as weaponizing federal agencies against dissent.

The Biden administration used censorship and pressured Big Tech.
Administration coordinated with platforms to suppress COVID origins, vaccine skepticism, Hunter Biden stories, and election information even when accurate.
Federal judge called it the "most massive attack on free speech" and it also included pressuring Amazon to censor books.

Can you even IMAGINE the squad seeing me drinking frou-frou coffee?

I'd never hear the ****ing end of it. They'd club up and buy me a tutu.
Well, the solution I provided is the "simple as it gets" variety, though you could just ground your own beens your local supermarket and that would already be a marked improvement. I've taken my moka pot camping, so nothing fancy about it and it's much better tasking that drip coffee sitting in a machine all day. But yes, the saltiness over drinking frou-frou coffee would establish your elitist bonafides in some circles.
;)

Not really, since she still fails to provide self generated arguments or defenses of those arguments. She just parroted the "Mecha-Hitler" chat bot, which seems to be the trend nowadays in some circles. So the only progress seems to be moving from parroting human generated comments to chat bot generated content. The similarity they share is they don't require original thought.

No, the real world sees exactly what the anti-Trump Democrats are.

Two sides of the same coin.

Let's hear it - what specific policies leads to claims that Trump is like a King?

Go.

Starting with firing the Inspectors General, 17 of them, and not replacing them. We depend on them.

His most damaging Executive Order, Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies, replaces independent agencies that we seriously need to be independent.

Federal Election Commission (FEC),
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

Which send their major regulations to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB)

Lawsuits against law firms are acts of intimidation. Media lawsuits like his demands for billions are absurdly frivolous.

His profits from extravagant Maralago crypto parties are yielding millions amd his profits from the office of the president are illegal under the emoluments clause.

Control over the Federal Reserve is coming soon and intimidation to control economic reports means we can't believe anything anymore.

He intends to continue concentrating power in the office and abuse his powers as he has always done. But now, no one can stop him. If trump commits a crime, who will stop him?

The fatal flaw in her whataboutism argument is failing to check if those she's arguing with actually supported the whatabout they're whataboutisming about.

But, you know, I doubt they care. Its got that great "ah-ha" moment that covers many inadequacies of their argument.

Except if fails so, so badly.

So just because we had a federal bureaucracy that was funded by Democrats (AFGE, AFCSME, AFL-CIO) playing political games on behalf of Democrats we MUST keep that bureaucracy? How would you feel about that if the federal bureaucracy opposed Democrats?

Usurping congressional powers over appropriations and taxes

Entering into trade deals unilaterally

Ignoring the Constitution as it relates to separation of powers

Partial NON-AI overview:
Destroying The Constitution entirely, openly daring anyone to challenge his usurpation of the separate branches of government, Executive, Legislative and Judicial, and attempting to position the Executive Branch as the only branch capable of issuing policy decisions and appropriation of funds that The Constitution says is clearly the job of the Legislature.

If you're okay with eliminating liberal democracy and replacing it with an authoritarian who can overrule any part of government by simple spoken edict, then none of this means anything to you because you prefer dictatorship.
You're not alone, many right now think it's a great idea...right now, that is.

The overwhelming majority of American do not favor this however, and No Kings is the presentation.
We are The United States of America, not The Republic of Hungary.

No Kings
No Tyrants
No Dictators
No Mafia Dons

And the Democrats are appalled at what Trump is and what he is doing. He's disgracing America and all Americans.
Did you complain when Biden and Obama acted with overreach? Did you say they both disgraced America and Americans with their executive overreach? Or did you save up all that anger specifically for Trump?
Frankly, I'm appalled by the Democrats' rules for thee but not for me double standards.

As I read the thread title, and the first post, I could have sat down and typed everything that was said. It is that predictable.

But Biden! He defied the Supreme Court to try and pay for Student Loans. Dictator! Well not exactly. The First Supreme Court decision was if Biden could transfer money from fund B to pay for A. The Supreme Court said no. Biden's lawyers looked at the decision and the way it was written, only restricted Biden from paying for it by transferring funds from B. It didn't say it couldn't be done in any circumstance. So Biden tried to do it by transferring money from program D to pay for his program A. A completely different fund. Oh Dictator! The Courts again said no.

The RW celebrated this. It showed Biden wasn't allowed to do whatever he wanted. Then Trump was in office. And Trump started shuffling money without congressional authority. The RW changed their tune right away. Trump needs to do this to protect America. Trump canceled programs that had been paid for like US AID, and authorized by Congress. Trump is not wasting money on those failed socialist programs. We have to do this because people are suffering here and America First!

Trump has done worse in the first few months of his administration than anything you all lie about Biden regarding. Nobody on the Right is upset that Trump found money in the cushions of the couches to pay the Military. Oh you want them to suffer? Nobody calls Trump a dictator for shutting down programs that were authorized and paid for by Congress. They cheer him.

Oh Biden was a Dictator during COVID! You didn't mind that.

80% of the COVID period was while Trump was President. If you were really mad about it you wouldn't be supporting Trump. You just hate the Left. The development of the Vaccine and the initial human trials all happened while Trump was President. The Vaccine received emergency use authorization from Trump's FDA. Trump bragged it was a beautiful vaccine and was developed in Record Time! So who do you blame? Biden.

The RW is not rational. They are motivated by hatred, and imagine the left is motivated the exact same way. They won't discuss an issue, they won't discuss anything but talking points. But Biden! The Left is Awful. So support the King if you want. Shout and attack those who oppose your King. But pray we who oppose that King are victorious, because you don't want to live in the Country he is creating.

Let's hear it - what specific policies leads to claims that Trump is like a King?

Go.
In addition to everything already mentioned, he is trying to destroy a competent, professional bureaucracy in favor of a patronage system beholden only to the President.

They are right in front of our faces. Each one gives him more power and weaknesses the other branches of government. I can do more, if it helps. ;)

The Trump Administration’s Dismantling of Federal Agencies and Threats to Important Social Services - American Oversight

The Trump administration is systematically dismantling important federal agencies, jeopardizing access to crucial programs, and undermining civil rights protections for millions of Americans in favor of benefiting Trump and his allies. American Oversight is investigating these threats to...

This thread played out exactly as I thought it would, meaning I need more... 🍿

The challenge was a sham from the start, based on a "specific policy" that suddenly means Trump is acting as a King with authority no other President has. And that is nonsense, to create such a standard that suddenly someone from the Republican camp suddenly sees it.

But our bigger issue is we did not get here yesterday, consolidation of power to the executive branch took time and crossed many administrations.

The wildcard here is how an argument is crafted for a president to have the ability to do something, or ignore legislative function, or be shielded from prosecution for action while president. Those are not necessarily policies but rather functions that continue to push the envelope on what is means to have presidential power.

We know who pushes for these things more so than others, happens to be our current president.

So, again, you are okay with other Presidents and EOs - just not Trump.
Renaming cabinets is done by a vote from Congress. He used an EO to rename (just for him and MAGA) Gulf of Mexico. This is also done by a Congressional vote.
Trump said "screw you!" and the sackless cuck giggled.

I don't mind EOs if they have a purpose. Trump has used well over 200 in his first 6 months in office. Not once has the sackless cuck told him he cannot.
