Southern Baptists condemn White Supremacy

Why are they obligated to do this?
Is there something inherent about their beliefs that makes it acceptable?

It is more about their history. It used to just be the Baptist Church, which took a stance against slavery. Those who wanted to keep slavery broke away to form the Southern Baptist Church. So advocacy of slavery is why the SBC exists. Obviously, in practice, they have evolved but I guess they wanted to make it "official".

So it's just empty virtue signaling.
It's an entirely useless act that serves nothing but someone's feels.

Geesh, the real world issues we tackle.

Pretty much. But I personally think that describes religion in general so, whatever. :)
