Amazing how these guys can be so against abortion they are willing to make it a part of their platform for governor...until the kansas vote, now all of a sudden their stance on abortion has changed, they say they will let the people of the state decide the issue instead of the governor.

Do you believe them?

Mastriano is one of them, I forget the other and mr. mastriano is losing bigly at this point in the polls.

Political rhetoric ......it is campaign BS. Remember we're talking fake republicans .......lying is first and foremost
at the top of their agenda.

How can anybody with a brain trust Mastriano. As for the other guy....if he is a repuke, I don't trust him either. No more trust to Repukes from me. They used all of it.

No I don't and for good reason.

Indiana's congress voted down an amendment that would allow the people of Indiana to vote on abortion.

I don't believe much of anything any republican says. I watch and believe their actions.

Let the people decided? That's a bunch of garbage. The last thing that republicans want is for the people to decide.

I am surprised that you are not applauding.

I guess you think the GOP is always wrong even when what they do makes sense.

Keep a.lookout for the shady backroom deals to keep the issue OFF the ballot.

Such principled politicians they are. /s

Mastriano in May:

January 22, 1973 was one of the darkest days in American history. On that day, seven justices of the Supreme Court ruled that the right to life could merely be reduced to a decision of convenience.
Our nation is now on the precipice of reversing this science-denying genocide.
Once the repeal of Roe v. Wade is official, I am calling on the General Assembly to hold a vote on the Heartbeat bill. The time is now for action to protect the rights of the unborn.

Very plausible that his position is now actually “yeah, sure, whatever, it’s all good.” The GOP is now face-to-face with the consequences of its radical social agenda. Watching them try to wriggle away from their extremism for November makes it clear that even they realize how out of step with the American people they are.

I got no problem with that. I'm a pro Roe v Wade abortion Republican myself.

RE: Indiana's congress voted down an amendment that would allow the people of Indiana to vote on abortion.

This is what the donkeys need to do for 2024 to guarantee a win, put the idea of Choice on the ballot. Giving people a choice scares the heck out of the GOP and it should.

Just like the republicans on the supreme court led everyone to believe R v W was a settled law issue and then voted to kill it. They are words dude, not actions. These guys are dead set against abortion and if you think once they get the power to kill it in their state they are going to let the citizens vote on it you are kidding yourself.

You contradict yourself. First, you say that they did something significant and then claim that they are, "words dude, not actions."

I will concede up front that Republicans never considered abortion to be a right. That is not the same as being against it in all cases.

You claim that they want to ban all abortion anytime and everywhere. While this is an articulated position it is far from the Republican majority position.

As to citizens voting, it literally has not come up outside of Kansas and that was in the context of a Constitutional amendment. For example, the article cited has nothing to do with a voting initiative.

What did I claim to be significant? Far from the republican majority? Can't wait to see how many of these republican controlled states allow their citizens to vote on the issue.

I guess you live east of the Blue Mountain tunnel. Once you get past that, ( known as Pennsyltucky) you have people carving TRUMP in their farm fields.

States like Indiana are bypassing allowing its citizens to vote altogether.

I live in Pittsburgh, grew up in Altoona. I can attest to Altoona that there a ton of wannabee rednecks there.

You mean president and vice president?
Laffriot . Lousy candidates win all the time. If you put these two next to each other, put a candle next to harris’ ear and blew in biden’s ear the candle would blow out. #empty
