Because our Constitution says so.If you say so.
“Article II of the Constitution spells out the powers of the president and executive branch. Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 states the following:
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.”
^ All blatant lies. Some presidents have issued blanket pardons for crimes not yet committed, of course.
Biden was the most recent example.
Probably the only one who pardoned people for crimes that would have been committed until the date listed on the pardon.. not even the time of the pardon, but the date. So present and future crimes included, obviously.
Really embarrassing yourself here.
