So, uh, people did the math and all the Republican proposals would add $3 TRILLION to the deficit

The administrations math, Biden's primary gripe is that he wants to raise taxes....

Don't put a Repuke back in the WH in 2024 and keep as many of them as possible off The Hill. They literally do not know what they are doing or do not care....probably both.

They have gone from supporting smaller government to wanting no government at all....whatever it takes.

Hey Ohio, how does deregulating with an ax instead of a scalpel look to you now? Busted trains spewing crap in your backyards that the underfunded EPA can't deal with. How does that grab ya'?

I'm 100% sure that the most wealthy people in our country thank you for your support. Without people like you they couldn't save gobs of money on their taxes.

And you should ask them for a ride sometime. They have the coolest cars.

I'd be surprised if House Republicans could even outline the spending cuts they demand in order to raise the debt ceiling - asking for a realistic, detailed budget seems to be wishful thinking.

So far for spending cuts to raise the debt limit we have:
  • not Social Security
  • not Medicare
  • not Defense
(Unless I missed an update.)

Historically speaking, Republican presidents have indeed increased the deficit WAY more the Democrats presidents.

So, just based on history, Biden's tweet would make sense.

Not nearly progressive enough to suit Progressives. Their mission is to make a minority of the electorate pay all federal income taxes, thus assuring that the majority can ‘painlessly’ support their desire to have ever more federal government power and expense.

I'm guessing it's bait. They'll sacrifice a few of their own to get it through the House, then with Manchin and Sinema's help they'll amend it in the Senate, then they'll ALL vote against it in the House. "Look, Democrats tried to explode the debt and WE STOPPED THEM."

Ya'know, that the US tax code is already the most relatively tilted against the wealthy in the developed world? You keep whining about the rich not paying their fair share, ok, would you like to use the British, Germany, or French tax code? You know, the one where the poors like you see your taxes go up by 15-20% and my taxes go up 2-3%? That's what you want?
