Admiral Kimmel wasn't relieved of command of the Pacific Fleet until 10 days after Pearl Harbor.

And, at that time, Kimmel had already dispatched ships for the relief of Wake Island -- which was initially attacked by the Japanese on the same day as Pearl Harbor was attacked.

Kimmel's #2, Pye, decided the Wake plan was too risky and recalled the ships....and, as a consequence, Japanese forces took Wake Island on Dec. 23, 1941 and held it until after the Japanese surrendered in September 1945.

There were about 97 US personnel - POWs - that were later murdered by the Japanese in the interim.

So, maybe....just maybe....rash firings may not be the best course of action.

So because I'm a nerd and estimate the slope of the roof to be 1:12 (~5%) I used Good Maps to confirm. I was right, it is 1:12. That is not a high slope roof at all. In fact, ADA recommends wheelchair ramps to be no greater than 1:12.

It's logically unrealistic and unacceptable for any average sized woman to be in a position where her job might involve surrounding a man in order to provide a physical shield. Might there be some acceptable jobs for women in the Secret Service? Sure, but only if physical size will not be at play for her position or assignment.

This is your opinion. That you believe it's based on logic is your right, as it's also my right to say you're wrong.

Returning to the days when females were found to be unfit for many jobs is not a goal that is likely supported by today's girls and women (and, likely, many males). So, I urge you to make the above and similar opinions known to everyone you come into contact with. And to do so between now and the election.

Good! The male detail is now "tall and strong" enough to cover Trump. (y)

Now there can be a role for female security details, IMO protecting other FEMALE dignitaries. Easier to provided security in and outside female spaces. Restrooms, dressing areas, etc. along with public venues.
