So Much for the Post Racial President

Really? You think Obama is "excluding?" No, he's just including. He's mentioning groups that have been traditionally less powerful as part of his coalition. Only someone desperate for a wedge issue would turn it into "exclusion."

Got it..... He's not excluding anyone, he just didn't include Whites and Males.

You going to stick with that or would you like to try something else?

Bush is not calling on any specific race for an event or election. He's recognizing a group of people at an event FOR that group of people.

Obama was at no event, he was speaking to the NATION.

Talk about pathetic. Thats the best you've got? Speaking to African Americans at an NAACP conference? :rofl:rofl

Good thing you don't collect asses, because you are defiantly handing MM his. :rofl

No. He'd immediately be called an uncle tom.

Only if it's about basketball or golf.

Damn. that's racist!!!!!!!!!!!! Just ask HazlNUT.

Whites and Males.

Edit: sorry, you only asked for one, I gave you two...... my bad.

Actually no you are still wrong. I am white and male, but you know what I am also young. So I am still accounted for in his speech. Sorry people are trying to make this into something it really isn't.

I'm just sorry obama isn't reaching out to us old white guys. :(

And yet we don't feel the least bit discounted, because we're not desperately trying to create an issue out of nothing.

Nothing desperate here, just a statement of fact based on our demographic being excluded in a speech made to the entire nation by this president.

He is playing the game of politics and wants the masses that went out to vote for him to vote again in 2010. The groups he said are the ones that voted for him the most.

it's an incredibly stupid move politically

it costs him drastically in THE POLLS

in THE STATES

in the SENATE

to call for certain americans to STAND TOGETHER once again...

against whom

enemies foreign and DOMESTIC?

LOL!

why should only some americans STAND TOGETHER?

aren't the rest of us worthy?

he declares war vs HALF his own constituency

y'know, all those people he told in virginia (ouch) to SHUT UP

Breitbart.tv Obama: ‘Don’t Want the Folks Who Created the Mess to Do a Lot of Talking’

remember?

like the folks he wanted their NEIGHBORS to RAT OUT for expressing FISHY THOUGHTS

FOXNews.com - White House Move to Collect 'Fishy' Info May Be Illegal, Critics Say

it's in obama's makeup, he has some need to go personal when people simply oppose his leadership

President Obama's strategy gets personal - Jonathan Allen and Carol E. Lee - POLITICO.com

opposition these days is eager to discuss health care, cap and trade, immigration reform, debt, taxation and spending, foreign policy---iran, korea, mexican cartels, putin, hu, israel, afghanistan/pakistan, iraq

we like to talk about the polls and upcoming elections

obamites, in contrast, seem to want to talk about ms palin or mr beck, teabaggers or tea partiers or racists, tin foil hats, rush limbaugh and, of course, endlessly and forever, george w what's-his-name

LOL!

it's so very revealing

this president has no idea how to lead, how to bring people together and inspire them with his vision

his big view, you see, must be in accord with THEIRS

obama's too arrogant to LISTEN to the people he lamely attempts to lead

instead, he insults, he campaigns, he politics, he divides, blames, makes excuses, feels sorry for himself

he goes to iowa

LOL!

it is what it is

pathetic

the most incompetent politician at the national level america has ever produced

Got it..... He's not excluding anyone, he just didn't include Whites and Males

He didn't include transgender Hindus either. Are they excluded?

Right. Desperate.

even the PRESS CORPS are talking

Why reporters are down on President Obama - Josh Gerstein and Patrick Gavin - POLITICO.com

LOL!

he's LOST the press corps!

now, THAT's remarkable

"contentious," "thin skinned," "controlling," "stingy with information..."

"the ferocity of the pushback is intense"

(what'dya expect in CHICAGO?)

"vitriolic emails"

"profane, hi decibel phone calls" (rahm)

why is everything with this bunch always so personal?

everyone's "frozen out" except the lady, the stinking, cankered whore she is

LOL!

yup, he's lost em, alright

now, that's INEPT

just look at the headlines, all bad

Finally, an honest man. My hat's off to you, sir.

really?

that's an awful lot of close minded people, must be half a billion...

LOL!

Coming from a person who almost never changes their opinions.

Indeed. That's human nature. Adult men do not generally change their opinions.

I could make the same blanket statement about any demographic in america. I would also be just as wrong and biased as you are.

I always thought "post-racial" was rather a means for traditional "minorities" or, even, majorities as minorities (women, for instance) getting into the Presidency rather than some utopian land where we no longer think of race or ethnicity.

Then again, I also thought post-racial as the media called it before the man was elected was another example of, I think Jonah Goldberg (?) hilariously called "the slobbering love affair" or whatnot. It was right up there for the "hope and change" rhetoric that made me want to gag.

That was the promise. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identity_politics"]Identity politics [/ame]is the reality. Pity.

Just call it yet another broken campaign promise. What kills me is the blanket denials of many of his supporters. Things really are what they are.

This website has on and off been a fairly good representation of age demographics.

How often does a conservative --> moderate --> liberal or the reverse?

How often does anybody admit they were wrong when weaknesses in their argument are exposed?

It's really not in the nature of grown men to let any force take the opinion they chose for themselves, tell them it is wrong, and give them a replacement.

Back in my youth I was a liberal. Mostly, people tend to be liberal when young. Things begin to change as one's experiences increase.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a President pandering to his base. Sure, maybe politics is getting in the way of his ideals, but this won't be the last or first time this happens.

I don't see anything wrong with it either. I'm just amazed by the fact so many obama supporters can't come to terms with the idea white males aren't his base. Obama knows, why don't they?
