and incredibly smart to boot. Americans have a lovely and wonderful First Lady.

Love that picture. I love it when dark colored people wear such bright bold colors. That dress she is wearing really brings out her skin tone in a great way. I like that look on her face too. It says, "don't **** with me!"

I don't know. To me, she's got too much make up on and she appears to be grimacing through some sort of constipation problem. The dress is beautiful but it looks like they sat her under some drapery that fell down and she can't seem to shrug it off.

It's ok. She looks like she's holding something in her mouth.

Tough crowd!

She has an odor of being a racist bitch too, but we'll see...

I have had a love/dislike relationship with Michelle Obama.

I thought she looked stunning at Inauguration--STUNNING. The dress, the color flattered her. When I saw her give Laura Bush a gift when she and Obama arrived at the White House, I thought she exuded class.

Inauguration night--I did not like the dress and thought it did not flatter her body.

This picture--eh. She has a soft face (as her husband was sworn in) and a hard face (in this picture). The color of the dress is beautiful. I don't like the way her hair and face look. Also, her hand doesn't look elegant.

I know, Middleground, tough crowd.

My dislike for her is based on watching her belittle Barack on national TV. It's unnecessary. She has done it in interviews when he has been present.

Americans--it seems--have had a lot of great luck with First Ladies. With Michelle, I believe the streak will continue.

No doubt she will make mistakes and may say stupid things... no one is perfect. Having said that, I truly believe that her brains, class, background, and looks will no doubt serve her and her country well.

If you are referring to the 60 Minutes interviews, I got a different take. I thought she was being playful, and I though it was fun. Not saying your interpretation is wrong and mine is right, but isn't it amazing how people process the same information differently?

 you give anyone "the maxim" treatment an you can airbrush anyone into a goddess.... ;)

Just saying....

Who the **** cares what she looks like?

If Hillary had won, would people be commenting on Bill's elegance and beauty as the First Husband?

Yes, I am talking about the 60 Minutes interview. I think I wouldn't have thought much of her comment except for the fact that I saw her belittle him in an interview right at the time he announced his candidacy for president. For me, I didn't like it.

Then, as I watched her during the campaign, she grew on me. I loved her on The View. I loved how she blew off McCain's comment about "That one." I loved how she essentially defended Sarah Palin when she was being attacked for her wardrobe. I thought it showed graciousness and elegance on her part. She never stooped to Cindy McCain's tactics of misrepresenting the opposing candidate's voting in the Senate. Anyway, I was googley-eyed about her by the time Obama won the election. Then I saw the 60 minute interview, and I saw that same belittling behavior, and I didn't like it.

I do think she is going to be a fantastic First Lady. I love her devotion to her kids and the fact that she exudes confidence, but not arrogance.

There was a picture of her and Barack on some magazine cover where she looked absolutely gorgeous.

THAT is why I am disappointed with this picture. I just think it doesn't flatter her.

Well it goes without saying that Bill's a stud. :rofl

Obama seems to be ***** whipped by her he has talked about moving his mother in law into the whitehouse.

Wanna try something fun? Look in the mirror, bury your tongue into your bottom lip (with your mouth still closed) and you look like Michelle Obama!!

Actually, this might come as quite a shock to you, but it seems (based-on interviews) that Obama is quite close to his mother-in-law. Hs it dawned on you that perhaps he wants her there too?

I just love how people come to conclusions based-on nothing.

I believe this mother-in-law has had a lot of the care of the girls, what with Obama and his wife both having busy careers.
Now they are both going to be busier than ever, and there's no reason to hire a nanny or some other paid caregiver to live in the White House with them, when grandma is available and willing, and has always had the care of the girls. No reason to change this. Continuity of care is important, and the Obamas seem concerned with causing as little upheaval in their daughters' lives as possible, under the circumstances.
It has been a long time since small children lived in the White House. But this is not the first time a mother-in-law has lived there. There's plenty of precedent for it.
