[The blast] expanded in seconds to a blinding white fireball more than three miles across (the Hiroshima fireball had measured little more than one-tenth of a mile) and rose over the horizon like a dark sun; the crews of the task force, thirty miles away, felt a swell of heat as if someone had opened a hot oven, heat that persisted long enough to seem menacing. “You would swear that the whole world was on fire,” one sailor wrote home….

Swirling and boiling, glowing purplish with gamma-ionized light, the expanding fireball began to rise, becoming a burning mushroom cloud balanced on a wide, dirty stem with a curtain of water around its base that slowly fell back into the sea. The wings of the B-36 orbiting fifteen miles from ground zero at forty thousand feet heated ninety-three degrees almost instantly. In a minute and a half, the enlarging fireball cloud reached 57,000 feet; in two and a half minutes, when the shock wave arrived at the Estes, the cloud passed 100,000 feet. The shock wave announced itself with a sharp report followed by a long thunder of broken rumbling.

Well the plus side is if they do, odds are it will come ashore in a democratic controlled city and then they will have their Come To Jesus moment about border security (and probably how innocent these poor Muslim nations really are).

Hope not, it would probably erupt in global war. But it is not the worst that could be done to us. A Large warhead exploded high over Kansas would send out an EMP pulse that could shutdown our electrical grid from coast to coast indefinitely, estimates are as high as 90% dead across the Nation within 12 months, then we are ripe for invasion. There are several Nations can do it, the Russians and the US have practiced doing it, though we would still retaliate through hardened silos, subs and various other forces. Yes there are nightmare scenerios out there that are possible. Sleep Well.....

I worry about Russia’s fascination with doomsday weapons.

Really, how does a nuclear weapon have any relation to Muslims and borders? All you've done is hijack this thread and make it partisan and hateful.

The OP is the one who discussed one coming into a US port. Port cities are largely democrat controlled cities and those ports are borders. All I have done is discuss factual reality.

In the ten minutes it took you to respond, you googled it so sure you were right, found out you are very much wrong, and are now evading facts that don't support your faux righteousness because your ego is bruised. I’ll share a excerpt out my memoir from the ‘50’s.

My mom took me to see a (black and white) movie about Hiroshima after the atom bomb went off. It freaked me out so bad that airplanes flying over my house (all propellor planes back then), going errrrrrr....at night terrified the crap out of me. But to this day, the scene that sticks with me the most, it the happiness and giddyness of this Japanese surviving family that finally grew a radish. Yup. A goddamn radish. It made the beef tongue we ate for dinner too often, seem positively scrumptious.
Yeah. We got it pretty good over here. Because we won.
