A riot that some call an insurrection took over the capital building of the USA on January 6th of this year. The rioters were egged on by the president of the United States and others. This riot not only damaged the Capital building, but also damaged our country in the eyes of the world. It also caused the immediate death of five people and injured 140 policeman. It will probably lead the hundreds of convictions for crimes up to and including sedition. My simple question is as an American are you proud of those who instigated the riot or are you ashamed of all of those who took any part of the riot?

I wouldn't expect many straight answers or self reflection from the Trump/Greene wing of the party. No, you'll likely end up with a helping heap of whataboutism though.

I didn't approve of it, but I sympathize with those who did it. I was glad to see USG humiliated. Hopefully the Capitol Siege inspires the government's enemies the world over to stand up to it.

So you didn't approve of it, but are glad it happened?

Kind of a strange stance.

Taking a line from a movie "You can't handle the truth" and the precedent created by the left on the BLM riots only shows they only care about riots when it works in their favor.

Me being ashamed of those who took part in the Capitol riots? Definitely not. I had nothing to do with them or condone riots at all.

It took seven posts for a Trumper to point at black people. That's an improvement.

Ashamed.

As has been stated who knows how many times, the motivation behind BLM protests and the Capitol riot could not be more different.

On the one hand you had the vast majority of protests which were a peaceful, if earnest response to the repeated killings of unarmed black people by overzealous cops. That is a real issue that warranted real public outcry.

On the other you had Trump, Congressional Republicans, and their allies in conservative media making up a massive lie about the election being stolen. No evidence. Not a real issue. Simply made up by grifters to continue preying on gullible conservatives who have become their meal ticket.

I participated in a BLM protest. Do you know how many cops died? Zero. Do you know how many lost eyes? Zero. Do you know how many people were shot? Zero. Do you know how much property was damaged? None. Because most people, including both the cops and public leaders who joined hands in a prayer circle that evening, knew that the anger was totally justified and also wanted change.

I would not expect a person like yourself to understand approving of an outcome without endorsing the means used to obtain it.
