The funeral of Pope Francis is a solemn occasion. Many attendees will be in sober attire. Is Zelensky going to respect the occasion, like the other attendees, and appear in funeral attire? Or is he going to show same disrespect he showed to the Oval Office by appearing in his disrespectful Green Goblin Suit? Then too Z may, to everyone's pleasant surprise, appear clad in black from head to foot.

And it may help too if Z consults with the Vatican in case he intends to bring parting gifts to the funeral. His other gifts to the Vatican on other visits were a profanation. Not intentional. Mainly because the gifts were not reaally for the Vatican. The gifts were statements on his case for war. One gift was the Madonna painted on a bulletproof vest. Another more egregious one was a profanation: an icon of the Madonna and baby Jesus; but with the Saviour blacked out.

American allies. It doesn’t matter who is president. The alliances are between countries, not the individual who happens to lead the country. When the US agrees to something, it should honor those agreements. Political platforms are not declarations of foreign policy. The entire US government, including the Congress, decides on foreign policy.

The funeral is tomorrow. We will see how much respect Zelensky pays tomorrow. I won't be surprised if he takes the stand to deliver a funeral oration; chastising His Holiness for lukewarm denunciation of Russia while he was alive, forgiving His Holiness for that mortal sin, admonishing the mourning Cardinals not to make that mistake again, and the Cardinal-Electors to choose quickly and choose well, next Pope has to be firmly behind Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelensky.
