No, I don't think he should. For real though, why would he? If he feels he can do it, than more power to him. I actually find people like that inspiring, not letting an illness prevent you from reaching your goals or doing your job.

Of course he should not resign. Working invigorates people who are ill and gives them motivation to push ahead.

He should only resign when he is permanently unable to return to work, not a day sooner.

This poll was done in response to the absurdity of the Elizabeth Edwards poll.

Do you agree that it would be outrageously hypocritical to call for Sen. Edwards to give up his job as a Presidential candidate due to his wife's illness but not call for Tony Snow to resign too?

Thats why its ok for you to politicize her illness to smear her husband....but you find it disgraceful for people to politicize his illness.

I did not insult you.........Tell me though you don't see the difference in Snow making a decision affecting himself and Mes Edwards making a decision affecting her husband?

You said that Sen. Edwards should stop running for President in order to devote every moment to Elizabeth...right? Do you want me to find the posts that you said this?

So now Tony Snow has incurable cancer but it is OK for him to continue working and not devote his remaining time on this planet to his wife and children?

Elizabeth wants to continue to work with her husband to get him elected President. She obviously wants to do this. You claim you watched the 60 Minutes piece so there's no way you can say after watching it that she wants John to quit. Her "job" is to help him become President. Get it?

Now Tony Snow has a job too, Press Secretary to Furious George. He's quite good at it, maybe the best I've ever seen. I don't agree with what he preaches but I think he's doing a great job. I'm betting that he will want to get back to work ASAP.

Let's review? Elizabeth Edwards job is to get her husband elected President.

Tony Snow's job is to work for the President.

Both work in jobs that are very important to them and to our country.

However, you, Navy Pride have demanded that Sen. Edwards quit running for President so that Elizabeth can quit her job and together they can devote the rest of her life to fighting her cancer.

However, again...you, Navy Pride, have not called for Tony Snow to quit and to devote all of his remaining time to fighting his cancer.

Please explain to me, the person with less than half a brain how the two scenarios are different enough that Liz must quit but Tony can work?

A detailed explanation beyond one sentence would be really appreciated because my small brain has trouble understanding your posts when they are so brief.

Debating this topic with you is hopeless sad to say. I wrote what I consider to be a very well thought out post clarifying the obvious similarities that these two brave public servants are facing.

For reasons that I cannot understand and maybe only you can explain to us you are unable to conceptualize the similarities. It appears from where I'm sitting it's due to your outrageous partisanship you are unable or unwilling to give Elizabeth Edwards your respect. Respect Navy, yes, respect. How so you ask?

You disrespect her by diminishing her stated commitment to her husband, his cause and our country. You diminish her by constantly slamming Sen. Edwards in the usual way that you do by calling him juvenile and moronic names.

Sen. Edwards you call an Ambulance Chaser and an Egotist.

Sen. Clinton you call the Ice Princess.

Sen. Obama you call Hussein.

President Clinton you call Slick Willie.

Vice President Gore you call a liar and FAT.

You call Sen. Kerry Lurch and a TRAITOR.

You call Sen. Kennedy a Drunk and a Murderer.

You call Sen. Durbin "Turbin Durbin".

You call Sen. Levin a "worthless piece of $hit".

There's a pattern here that cries out PARTISANSHIP and IMMATURITY beyond belief. So much so that you start threads that taunt a woman with cancer. You pretend, yes, PRETEND to "pray for her" and you PRETEND that you "hope she recovers" YADA YADA YADA.....

So now you don't even have enough respect for yourself to admit that your calling for Sen. Edwards to quit running was partisan BS or, if you believe that, you're hypocritical because you're not calling for Tony Snow to resign and your so-called logic is anything but logical...but it sure is partisan.
