Should NPR & PBS Continue To Receive Federal Funding?

Both actually receive very little of their yearly operating budget from federal funds.
NPR about 1% and PBS is less than 15%.

Their viewer should be supporting and funding them, not the taxpayers.
Obviously someone who doesn’t listen to public radio and hasn’t listened to endured their weeklong quarterly fund drives. In a perfect hell move, three LA public radio stations will have fund drives at the same time.

I had to stop listening to NPR during Trump I — few to no challenges to the lies coming from that administration. Same during GWB I and the lies told regarding Iraq and the coming war.

Hard to imagine the person who would not be interested in any of public broadcasting... accepting of course the current resident of the WH.

Red State MAGA is busy watching... God knows what, but it ain't PBS.

You want to take away Sesame St., Frontline, Nova, Nature, and shows like Downton Abbey? Lots of luck.

What's going to stop them from ending federal funding?

If anyone, it'll be the wealthy and well-educated. They're big fans.

There was quite a list of those attending M-a-L dinner invitations leading up to the election. And since. So...unlikely IMO.

Yeah....the Post Office, National Parks, the Kennedy Center, Environmental Legislation and PBS.....what will they turn to next?
Any ideas?
I seriously don’t have a clue, and that’s because I’m not wired that way. Revenge and hate aren’t the overriding motives in my life. So I can’t relate.

I happen to think that the things you named are examples of human progress and civilization in our country. Plus, I don’t wake up every morning wondering what institution I’m going to wreck today, or which people’s lives I’m going to negatively affect.

But I am wondering when this country is going to get the first military style parade down Constitution Avenue in D.C… you just know that’s coming.

I am not like you. I do not need to be told.

I observe.
And you have special insight into what I'm like?

"Woke Propaganda Centers" are just words that spring up naturally? What was the last program you watched on PBS?

Absolutely they should.

Correct. If they were truly centrist programs they would ensure a balance of different political leans were broadcast, and they would not demonstrate a clear preference for any lean themselves.
The fairness doctrine?

That's been dead for decades.
