No need. Israel will not use their nukes unless pressed to the wall, nor will they help our enemies obtain nukes, so it isn't a real concern.
Let them tremble; let them call us a mad state. Let them understand that we are a savage country, dangerous to our surroundings, not normal, that we might go wild, that we might start World War Three just like that, or that we might one day go crazy and burn all the oil fields in the Middle East. Even if you'll prove to me that the present war is a dirty immoral war, I don't care. We shall start another war, kill and destroy more and more. And do you know why it is all worth it? Because it seems that this war has made us more unpopular among the civilized world. We'll hear no more of that nonsense about the unique Jewish morality. No more talk about a unique people being a light upon the nations. No more uniqueness and no more sweetness and light. Good riddance."
/QUOTE]I have a question for all involved; If Israel were to come out and acknowledge their nuclear arsenal, would they be forced to disarm?[
Who's going to force Israel to disarm?
Fill us in.
No.
I have never understood why any country would sign it, especially when the countries pushing it the most already have nuclear weapons. If I were a leader I would not put my country at that kind of a defensive disadvantage.
And the recent betrayal of Ukraine only reinforces and confirms my point of view.
Who on this planet could enforce that requirement?
Not going to happen, not today, not tomorrow, not any time soon.
Wait and see.

Your statement runs contrary to the alleged secret agreement that the U.S. has with Israel to shield Israel's nuclear program. Look everyone knows that the U.S. does not honest broker when it comes to Israel. It's hypocrisy pure and simple.
No, becausethe Jewish religion doesn't require that they exterminate all unbelievers, unlike some religions and the leaders of such trying to get ahold of nukes.
As long as the USA "sanctions" Iran for allegedNuke research, it presents itself as the maximum hypocrite for not insisting upon Israeli compliance with an International agreement expressly regarding Israel's nuclear weapons program. The USA should initiate teh same sanctions against Israel just to demonstrate that the sanctions are "just and fair" and not a naked political ploy discriminately aimed for covert purposes. Israel needs to comply.
Let's see how that works for you.You want to require signatures and force compliance, start with North Korea.

That's just the reality of things.
that the U.S. will shield Israel's nuclear program from international scrutiny. I wonder what we got in return? Perhaps nothing.Evidently the U.S. and Israel have a secret agreement
Secret U.S.-Israel Nuclear Accord in Jeopardy | Fox News
It makes no sense that we should shield Israel's nuclear weapons program when they won't stop settlement expansion when we ask them to do so. That is totally stupid on our part. I guess you can't blame them for taking advantage of us in that way tho.Why do we keep allowing such nonsense?
I agree 100%. But unfortunately that Nirvana isn't going to happen anytime soon. And a great argument for global disarmament since nuclear power can lead to unstoppable belligerence.
If by "useless" you mean that they're only worth the paper they're written on, and that people/countries are sometimes prone to break agreements, then yes.It appears you think the NPT is useless. Do you think nuclear proliferation is practical? Should it be something that the human race accepts? If so, what will be the consequences in terms of the ability of the human race to survive?
Don't disagree at all. But per my previous comment, if I'm the leader of a country my primary responsibility is to my people. If I'm Belgium I can probably get away with signing such a treaty and we'll be fine. If I'm Ukraine all bets are off, given Russia's history and mindset.Because nuclear weapons falling into the wrong hands scares pretty much every country on the planet. Even countries without them don't want more nuclear weapons floating around.
U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and towards Israel has not and does not until this very day make any damn sense with regards to U.S. interests.
Both political parties have for the most part supported Israel ... presidents and legislators alike. It never did and that's been going on since the day that the state of Israel came into existence.
I wonder who we have to thank for that?
That's not going to happen,
Here's something of interest from Ariel Sharon
