Should Dems move to the Right of Biden?

Should Dems move to the Right of Biden?

That's not a cry to pay immigrants less, it's an assertion that they won't work for those wages.
You're not even responding to the quote this time. Like so many Mad Libs, when something doesn't fit your design, you just make stuff up.

You don’t need a Dem to do that, Trump already stated the quiet part out loud when he said gee maybe farms and hotels shouldn’t be subject to ICE raids anymore.
That's not even close to be as damning as Crockett claiming that illegals SHOULD become the new, poverty-wage underclass because Black citizens, like the rest of the citizenry, want cheap labor. If you're going to do whataboutism, come up with a half-decent example.

I’d trade ten republicans for every illegal worker in this country and we’d be a better, smarter, safer nation for it.

I just mentioned one to Gimme: the idea that the country ought to allow illegals to be the new underclass to do the dirty jobs, because supposedly no citizens will do them. Which is stupid because the point of illegals is that companies can underpay them because they're not capable of bringing legal action.
The really dumb part about this, and we had at least one thread on the topic, I believe your fellow traveler Vysky created it, is that what Crockett argued, asked, was who was going to pick our food if the admin is going to remove half of the country's AG workers....because you are not going to get Blacks running to those jobs.

But then, I'm letting details get in the way of your fantasies. Sorry.

Is this bizarre argument intended to give cover for your sadistically cruel policies toward undocumented immigrants?

Your act of sending an innocent man to a lifetime sentence in a foreign gulag is neccesary to prevent the Democrats from turning him into a slave? 😀
More dodging from you, after I considerately gave you information you neglected to learn.

Who do you even imagine you're talking to? Am I Trump or even Tom Homan? And is the innocent man supposed to be the "Maryland Dad?" The jury's still out on his innocence, you know. And yes, I know in court one presumes innocence, but right now we have some highly public circumstantial evidence against KG (assuming that's who you're talking about), so at this time my opinion of his guilt/innocence is as good or yours, if not better.

A continuation of Biden's moderate policies, after he abandoned his progressive platform (when he was actually popular). Basically the same far-right foreign policy, aligning with Liz Cheney, sidelining progressives and gas-lighting on Israel (also violating American law), more corporate aligned influences with the possibility of firing Lina Kahn, supporting crypto, right-leaning on immigration.

Kamala actively distanced herself from progressives and chose to campaign with Liz Cheney, strongly signaling that this was her preferred alliance, with the stated intent of placing Republicans in her cabinet. It was a very bad look, combined with her propensity to push pro-genocide propaganda.
All of these things just sound like things that matter to hardcore Mad Lib Progressives, not to Leftie voters. You don't like Biden or Kamala cozying up with Liz Cheney, but I don't believe that pissed off anyone but Righties, who consider Cheney a RINO. I don't think they believed that any Rightie politico would have swayed by the dim possibility that Kamala if elected would toss some important jobs their way. Some of your propositions are too much work to decipher, but they mostly sound like defenses of Progressivism's extremism. I'll conclude by noting that the only time Biden was popular was when his regime was administering the Trump Vaccine and taking credit for the accomplishment. The more he kept yammering about Systemic Racism, as he did for his full tenure, the more he aligned himself with Mad Libs, whatever the actual extremists might believe.

Since the context is this forum, yes, you are part of the current political discourse at DP, and your views, past and present are included....so....yeah.

What a lame defense of your already lame attempt to take a shot at me. Nobody in the world of public discourse-- which is the topic of this thread-- is talking about the historical issues surrounding what Lame Lefties term "the Lost Cause." People weren't even discussing the Lost Cause back when the Mad Libs were tearing down Civil War statues, which quickly transformed into tearing down statues of any White people (including in one case an opponent of slavery). The Civil War is a topic that only people interested in history acquaint themselves, and that doesn't include any of the Libs at DP, who like you just try to use it as a club to strike at their opponents.
No one said it was. This is such a weird diversion from your comment about losers and my response about Lost Causers being experts on losing, on how to deal with losing something over a century ago. But....whatever, it was a joke....and you respond by.... bringing up slavery!

Thanks, made my day.
I was talking about Dems losing as they continued to dig into their default positions, and you tried to deflect to past arguments about the Civil War. Since the topic seemed so important to you, I directed you to the last time slavery was brought up in public discourse, and that was Crockett's cringeworthy remarks. Your jokes, as you call them, are just lame deflections. with no more in common with humor than a Stephen Colbert rant.

was throughout his entire term which matched Don's first term according to Gallup.
And now Trump is more popular than he was in his first term, or Biden's in his lame tenure. What's your supposed point?

Be sure to ask all your interviewees about their gang affiliations. I know it won't make any difference because Mad Libs love criminality as long as they can hide behind their gated communities, but you ought to ask anyway.

Crockett put out a false paradigm, which is that companies HAVE to pay low rates. Hers, and therefore yours, is the fantasy.

Um, no, AG owners, large and small, want cheap labor.

I want these workers to have a streamlined, modern process to become citizens or temp workers.
Why do you imagine that they deserve to cut in front of all the people trying to become citizens the regular way?

- Foreign Policy
The Democrats should move to the left of Biden on foreign policy, following Trump, and ideally catching up with Marjorie Taylor Greene. Abandon neoliberalism or neoconservativism or whatever, and quit with the expensive foreign wars!
- Healthcare (Medicare, Medicaid)
The Democrats should move to the left and propose Medicaid buy-in for all on a sliding scale per income, thereby creating a system of universal health care.
- Public Health Policy (e.g. Vaccines)
The Democrats should stay with the scientists. No one named Kennedy should ever be allowed near their party again, regardless of politics. No Kings.
- Social Security
Explain the left position. The Democrats should make it publicly understood that only laborers making reasonable incomes pay this tax, which has been used as a piggy bank for every other government expenditure, and now the government laments they're running out of money, having never invested it in anything good. Keep it solvent, but keep it real, ideally with sensible immigration reform (see below).
- Civil Rights
Prepare to move right. The Democrats failed to lay out an exit plan for affirmative action. Everyone could see that the poison of racism was being drawn out, but clearly there was reason for whites to become nervous about being discriminated against when there is no objective criterion saying "yep, we've arrived at equality, no need to worry about this here". Fix that.
- Economy
Various directions. Establish and coordinate Five Year Plans with China, making reasonable negotiations to plan how much of what is imported, and to provide some assurance of stable commerce. Do the same with some other countries as feasible, and be friendly to those with which long-term planning is less feasible. Formally acknowledge the 10% baseline tariff as a National Sales Tax, reduce it slightly, but don't make it so imports are cheaper than U.S. produced goods after taxes. Place high tariffs and export duties on all bulk fossil fuels of every variety, except for long term contracts with Canada or Mexico via pipeline, and accommodations for islands such as Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Invest heavily in research, including graphene research, to repurpose culm waste and coal mines to generating strong fibers for infrastructure.
- Immigration
Move left. Or is it right? Increase legal immigration and make it a workable option. "Amnesty" should apply to illegals in the sense that they should not be disqualified, but they should receive no benefit for proving they violated laws. Arrange to remediate demographic issues (i.e. a Lesser Replacement) and save Social Security. Recognize that gene flow from the rest of the world, especially Africa, is entirely normal for human populations and has been going on for a very long time. Assure every American citizen the right to keep a spouse and children in country with MINIMAL paperwork, in the name of family values. Legitimize and fairly pay migrant workers.
- Foreign Policy
Right. Left? Be happy Trump pushed Europe to pay for its own military. Stay out of foreign wars. Restore foreign aid, spent wisely to promote goodwill and ensure that refugees from around the world find safe harbor BEFORE they reach the United States, at genuinely safe areas. Call it the Wall of Food.
- Political Corruption
This is going to be tough for everyone. There is so much corruption I don't know how to get to the bottom of it all. But a big part is that the public can CREATE value by generating their own forums and opinions, outside of professional ads and manipulation.
- Climate Change
Left. Restore science. Let the truth be known. Invest heavily in renewables.
- Infrastructure
Right. Evaluate everything critically. If any project involving a train or rail or monorail checks out as 100% legitimate, cancel it anyway under the assumption the auditors were corrupt. But fund research and look for ways to make cheaper materials available to states for construction.

Be sure to ask all your interviewees about their gang affiliations. I know it won't make any difference because Mad Libs love criminality as long as they can hide behind their gated communities, but you ought to ask anyway.
I didn’t vote for a convicted criminal 3 times.

- Regulations
Libertarian. Cut and cut and cut. Democrats lost their power on low flow toilets! People evaluate daily lifestyle issues very highly because they are reminded of them every day. But defend against pollution, notably noise, because THAT affects people every single day.
- Unions / Labor / Workers Rights
Reinvent from scratch and with deep philosophy. Unions are clearly a failed compromise. Look at how government and especially bankruptcy procedures can show favoritism to employee owned or consumer owned enterprises. Abolish new weird patent ideas that ban competition, in favor of a free market economy.
Bonus Question #1
Workers not bureaucrats. You need free and fair forums where everyone can have their say and a fair chance to inform party policy. Like Organizing for America but better. Creating a free and fair forum is THE central problem of democracy!
Bonus Question #2
I would be so happy to see the animal rights fanatics float away on an ice floe and no longer troubling the rest of us, I wouldn't care what the effect was on the vote. Not sure that's what you meant, but as you see, my answers are fractious.

Um, we are, and we have, so this nobody never argument fails. It fails the more you continue on. I had forgotten how much it causes replies from you.

And now Trump is more popular than he was in his first term, or Biden's in his lame tenure. What's your supposed point?
Hmmm...no, he is running in the low 40's just like the 1st term. The point that I countered, that you forgot, is your claim that "Joe was only popular", his popularity remained in the low 40's, like Donny 1 and 2, because we are at a point in time of pretty static partisan lines.
Crockett put out a false paradigm, which is that companies HAVE to pay low rates. Hers, and therefore yours, is the fantasy.
No she did not say that, this is beyond gaslighting. I'll repeat it since you keep putting words in her mouth and changing them, she said at a Black Church;

Her comment came during a guest appearance at the 125th anniversary of Grace Baptist Church in Connecticut. In an appeal to those opposed to President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, Rep. Crockett suggested migrants fulfill crucial jobs that Americans no longer desire.

"So I had to go around the country and educate people about what immigrants do for this country, or the fact that we are a country of immigrants,” she said. “The fact is ain’t none of y’all trying to go and farm right now.”
https://thenationaldesk.com/news/am...eds-migrants-because-were-done-picking-cotton
"OK, so I'm lying?" the representative asked. “You're not, you're not. We’re done picking cotton. We are. You can't pay us enough to find a plantation."

Now I'm still willing to entertain your Lost Cause response to Crockett's comments, as I always am.

How would a modern streamlined immigration system cause them to be "put in front", and where did I say that? Why do you always feel the need to put words in my mouth? Just stick to what I write, not what you imagine.

I don't know if that was a personal jab but I didn't vote for Trump against Hilary, much to my shame. You might care to clarify your comeback.

I respond constantly to stupid posts on a variety of subjects, and I'm happy to keep pointing out their stupidities. You sought to shift the topic from the Dems losing in their current public discourse to my supposed advocacy of whatever you think the Lost Cause is, which still has nothing to do with public discourse. That the topic has come up here on this particular forum does not make it "public discourse" of the kind that Mad Libs are failing so badly at. The current "maybe the pilots missed the nuclear facilities" is a perfect example of the Dems' desperation pushbacks. There are probably all sorts of valid ways for Dens to criticize the bombings, but their attempt to take advantage of a leaked low-confidence report is the way they decided to go, because they're mad and pathetic.

And it's because of the near-equal divide in sympathies that the aggregate popularity doesn't mean anything. Trump 2 is much more popular on specific policies than either Trump 1 or Biden.
Actually you quoted an interpretation as well as her words: the part about "crucial jobs that Americans no longer desire," so you're not averse to interpolating those yourself. I maintain that she's falsifying the situation: that the point is not that impoverished American citizens won't take the jobs out of "desire" but because the pay is too low to make the job feasible-- for a citizen who's not living off the grid.

Crockett's assertion that American citizens won't take shit jobs is total fantasy. I don't know about you but I consider trash collecting to be no less a shit job than picking peaches (which makes a little more sense than picking cotton, since cotton picking is mostly done by machines now). The majority of trash collectors are White, followed by Hispanics and Blacks, and the collection of trash is arguably more vital to the public welfare in any city than the picking of peaches is to anyone but owners of peach farms. But trash collectors are on average better paid than illegal peach pickers, since the standing average is that illegals are paid 42 percent less per hour than "documented" citizens. Crockett was totally trying to justify Mad Lib immigration policies with an incredibly chauvinistic attitude toward the current underclass, just because she thinks her people have escaped it. What a slime she is.

The illegals are mostly using the asylum system to cut in front of regular immigrants, who are being honest about simply wanting to come here for economic opportunities. There's no "streamlining" our country's bombardment by millions of these fake asylum seekers; that's a fake argument used by Libs trying to shift the blame from the shoulders of immigrants breaking our laws for their own advancement.
