I'm not offended. I'm merely pointing out how, with a single sentence, one can remove all political credibility. You see, the statement ~"Somalia is a libertarian paradise" glaringly displays ignorance:
1. Libertarian =/= anarchist.
2. Somalia was ruled by the totalitarian terrorist group Al Shabaab.
3. Somalia is currenly the recipient of one of the largest international entitlement programs in existence.
Now, consider how those two things render the statement, upon which you relied, meaningless and confused at best. Spewing ignorance in regard to both political ideology and current geopolitics is rather unbecomming. That you would base this fail on a obviously deeply flawed ~"saying" only makes the statement that much more pathetic.
No see that isn't an aspect anymore not even families in their late 20s with successful careers can really afford daycare. By your logic people should never have children till their late 30s when it is incredibly difficult and even then it might not be. Shouldn't we be encouraging young successful families?
I am a bit confused with the story, They mention day care costing over $20,000 a year,
but the example has a couple paying $13 a day.
So $13 a day X days a week X 52 weeks a year = $3380, or about $281 per month.
This is quite a bit different than the $1600 a month it would take to get to $20,000 per year.
When our daughter had her first birthday, my wife went back to work, so we enrolled our daughter in a daycare, the cost of which averages around $1,600 a month ($73 a day, around $20,000 a year). Our daycare isn’t particularly fancy - the food isn’t organic (gasp!) - but it is registered, clean, the staff are great, and our daughter loves it.
We can't all be as great as you.
Then pay for it. Be a man, be a father, show an example. Rise to the occasion. Dont look for a hand out.Exactly too bad getting a better one requires most families to put their child in daycare.

That's what were doing we just want it more affordable.

Here is SoCal, the LA Unified School District, and some local cities, provide meals, 7 days a week to kids. Now I understand nobody wants to see anyone starve, but it's getting to the point where the parents are only needed to provide the child, and from that point on, the rest will be handled by the government.
There is something very, very warped about that.
:agree: Since they give children backpacks of food on Friday so they have something to eat on the weekends, what are the food stamps being used for these days? And how do they justify doing it, other than to appeal to emotion..."it's for the children"?.
I want my rent to be more affordable. I really want a boat. A new one.
You are confusing wants with needs.
No, you need housing you can afford. You afford it by looking at the bank account and finding what you can afford. If its not in a neighborhood you like, get a second job.First one can be helped the second unless you live on an island no it is not need but we do need affordable housing.

My father retired for 20 hard years in the DC PD. What did he do after retirement? Got a job. He was a master carpenter so he was lucky to only work when he wanted to or felt he needed to. But he worked.
And it was not demeaning to have to work. Its what men do.
Your parents' house is more than affordable.
Happened here a few years ago. Then crashed and most people homes were valued less than what they still owed on them.I don't know about the U.S. but most cities in Canada are experiencing a giant housing bubble which has inflated prices by ludicrous amounts.
There is also no employment or educational opportunities either.

You can't work and go to college while living at home?
Hell, if your parents are around during the day, you can kill 3 birds with one stone, essentially wiping child care costs to 0.
Well that those things don't exist around you would have to commute for hours upon hours. I'm also not living at home I'd rather provide for myself and have a wife who provides a second income. It might work for some but not anyone who has any sort of ambition.
But you want other people to pay for your kids day care. You took down the world economy in the process. We're trying to prevent the economy form going down with it.
Ambition means you are not letting anything get in the way of your goals.Well that those things don't exist around you would have to commute for hours upon hours. I'm also not living at home I'd rather provide for myself and have a wife who provides a second income. It might work for some but not anyone who has any sort of ambition.
So you want a subsidy for having kids you can't afford, yet you'd "rather provide for yourself".
You have no idea how badly I want to kick you in the nuts right now.
