This is the kind of thing that happens when you allow women to serve aboard a Navy combatant.........The Navy should not be used for social experimentation.....It is there to fight our wars..........We have enough problems already without mixing the sexes......If they have to serve at sea then put them on all female ships.........

NORFOLK, Va. - The commanding officer of a Florida-based warship was removed from the post during an overseas deployment after several female crew members alleged that he sexually harassed women aboard ship, a Navy report shows.
Cmdr. Derick Armstrong was relieved of command in May, about six months after his promotion to the top job aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS The Sullivans. Of the 1,500 commanding officers in the Navy, 22 were removed from the job last year for various reasons
It really must suck to live a life that is misguided by religious homophobia.

One crew member said he looked at her "like I am something to eat"

It's like far right wing Conservatives don't expect the military to have the same standards of professionalism as the rest of us. ****, I travel and work with beautiful women AT LEAST once a month. I've worked with women who physically could run circles around my wife and still I've never ever had the urge to cross the line of professionalism. Not once - not only out of respect for my wife but out of respect FOR MY JOB. But Navy Pride apparently thinks our military is not smart/good/professional enough to do just that.
The funny thing is that women in the military do put up with alot out of professionalism on their part. It is better to turn a blind eye to some stuff than make trouble over every little thing.

You know this how ?......theres a big difference between going to work with people than living with them 24/7 out at sea where there are no spouses..
Men will be men no matter how many laws you right or how much indignant outrage you show....I agree with navy pride on this one...women and men should not be forced upon each other in such close quarters for long lengths of time....human nature dictates ****s gonna happen...
Look to the left. See the star in my row of awards. Hover the mouse over it and read the text.
I saw that...when were you in...rather when did you leave....really thats besides the point....I believe that putting men and women in close proximity of each other for days on end with no other outlets is asking for human nature problems.....
Nah, well run ships do not have much in the way of problems.
My preacher says it's an abomination- men and women living and working in close quarters for months at sea.
So better all male crews so any sexual harassment by a SENIOR/ THE COMMANDING Officer of the ship will be man on man!
Oh there will be 'troubles' no doubt, same as the more traditional 'it ain't gay if it is while underway' stuff...
But so senior an Officer involved?
This is an odd reality in the male/female thing. Many who don't want females on a fire line, navy ship, army unit use the females are weaker, more emotional line of 'logic'
Now this line uses men are weak, men are men after all, unable to think past their peckers.
Really?

Redress come on...theres ALWAYS problems when men and women are in close proximity to each other...especially young people...its human nature..
No law no rules no sop can change a young guys basic instincts and nature FOREVER...theres always going to be that lack of will that slipup and that overwhelming emotion.
What gets me is this...there are yes liberals that harp about kids...you cant stop them from having sex its thier instincts...well guess what that doesnt change when they turn 17 and join the navy same argument applies you cant apply it at your whim...its either that way all the time or its not...right ?
*Navy Pride* Maggie shouts in disapproving tone. This is the kind of thing that happens when assholes are allowed to advance through the ranks to captain ships. Shame on you.
It's hard to believe you think so little of your fellow males...that they are all a bunch of horny dogs.

Anyone who has risen to his rank in the service absolutely knows this is intolerable on every level. It's one thing when it's equal v equal. Quite another when its the commander of the damn ship.
Re: "It's the woman's fault." How about instead, sexual harassers can't serve aboard Navy ships. Why do you blame the victim instead of the perpetrator?
How about males treating women with respect, and not sexually harassing them?
I know it's hard to control yourselves, but I would assume that being a commander would require him being an adult.
