Senate report gives new details of Trump efforts to use Justice Dept. to overturn election

"On Jan. 3, then-acting attorney general Jeffrey Rosen, his deputy Richard Donoghue, and a handful of other administration officials met in the Oval Office for what all expected to be a final confrontation on Trump’s plan to replace Rosen with Jeffrey Clark, a little-known Justice Department official who had indicated he would publicly pursue Trump’s false claims of mass voter fraud.

According to testimony Rosen gave to the committee, Trump opened the meeting by saying, “One thing we know is you, Rosen, aren’t going to do anything to overturn the election.” For three hours, the officials then debated Trump’s plan, and the insistence by Rosen and others that they would resign rather than go along with it."



Trump just needed better underbosses and he'd still be President.
 
I think most intelligent individuals already realized Trump was doing everything he could to overturn the results of a free and fair election. It's really just his Cultists left now who claim that the election was stolen and that Trump did nothing wrong.
 
The 'stolen election' false news promulgated by Mr. Donald Trump and his enablers has, thus far, resulted in but a very few deaths. For that we should all be thankful.

The same cannot be said for the anti-vaccine false news we've been bombarded with during the Covid-19 viral pandemic. The death toll from that is considerable, and is continuing as this is written.

but i think they can still win. the massive system of disinformation and selling of hate is about as slick as it gets. the gerrymandered districts give them advantages with less votes. their state houses are doing all they can to make it tougher to vote (see NC) and putting laws in place so that other elections won't be stolen from them (when none have).


it's a damn big problem.

If the Election was Fraudulent then the Results are invalid! And this WOULD NOT BE "OVERTURNING the Election"!!!!
It would be "ALLOWING THE VOTES OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE" to be the only deciding factor for choosingour President !....

Now if Trump IS REALLY WRONG , all these Government people from this Report should have /would have ALLOWED Trump his Due Process and let him bring all his information in to Court, put him and everyone else under oath, and get to the bottom of this !!!!

Because, TRUMP DID Call the GA Sec of State and told him to "Find those 11K votes" ! IF Trump IS NOT RIGHT about the Fraud
then that is a HUGE CRIME , and Abuse of Power !!!! ..... So why wouldn't all these "I HATE TRUMPERS" get him in Court ???? ...

The only sensible answer is that they know he's right and want to try and destroy him via the Media/public opinion, Financially, all other ways, with the exception of allow Trump to go to Court ! Due process on what? Unsupported allegations? Evidence that is not what Lindell says it shows?, Evidence of mispresenting databases like Logan did in Arizona?

imo, Trump is not right regarding the election. Trump is not right in what he has said about Arizona.
Trump must have hired terrible lawyers to fail so many times in court. After all we are a country of laws. :giggle:
 
The forum's Republicans will not deal with the issues in this thread.

Republicans get their support from the rural counties of America. For the most part they are farmers, ranchers and rural shopkeepers with limited education. They don't know the truth about their party, they don't know what Trump has said and done, and they don't want to know. Theirs is a blind loyalty to Trump very similar to a cult.

Much like this thread, they avoid responsible news sources. They will not learn of this Senate report, and Jan. 6 is just another date.

The other big news was that both Powell and Guliani admitted in court documents that they had NO evidence of election fraud when they went to the courts and spread the crap on RW media. None...and they spent no effort in finding any that was their sworn testimony id depositins. No doubt that will be huge on Fox tonight..../sarc

I agree with you BUT the real culprits are the very well educated opportunists in Congress and RW media who feed the base garbage they know is untrue. They do it out for political and monetary power and it works with the base......we see it here daily.
