SC Rules Red States Can Force You To Register To Look At Adult Sites

Sorry, this one decision isn't going to rile me up, yet we will be entertained with partisan slants.

I have no issue with restricting who gets access to porn. Besides, who watches porn anyways? If your not getting any in real life maybe your porn fix is the problem

Sheesh!!

Everyone. It has zero to do with who is or is not "getting any".
Wanna bet? Since I like to think I am someone and have never watched porn, I am guessing everyone is minus one.

Purely from an accessibility perspective, it's interesting that we are making it harder for kids to watch porn than access a firearm (loose requirements in private sales).
;)
BOTH are wackadoodle. Now kids frustrated with not getting their porn fix can go out and get an AR15 and vent their frustration. /s

Yeah, you would be in an ultra small category. I always loved hookers, brothels, strip clubs and was very comfortable in what some consider these dark areas.
Streaming porn? A big nothing.

Again, it has zero to do with who is getting it. Childish expression BTW.

Sheesh!!

Anyone opposed to this must be watching some sketchy material. The government requires age verification for tobacco, alcohol, and lottery tickets. Age verification for obscene material shouldn’t be controversial.

Really?

How long and why do you feel child should be sheltered from a natural physiological process? Till 21?

Both are not the same at all. You making them equivalent is a wackadoodle statement.

You sound upset. Again.

The issue is that the verification methods result in exposing people to data breaches. Most of these verification sites require something like your driver’s license or passport.

Didn't notice the /s at the end of my statement. You know, you don't ALWAYS have to be like your avatar. Just sayin'

People expose themselves to data breaches by putting their information out there. And good. It will be a lot easier for law enforcement to find the makers and consumers of child pornography.

Common sense is no longer as common. ;)

You think it's going to stop there? You think you're not going to have to show ID to look at videos of people starving in Gaza? You think Canary Mission won't know you were watching that site? You think you can just watch a nasty or racy movie on Netflix without having a "smart TV" webcam continually scanning your face to make sure you're an adult -- and pause the movie if your friend comes in who isn't on the list of registered clients?

For looking at something vs consuming a substance? This is extremist Christian garbage trying to create a registry of “undesirables”.

I don’t know anyone who eats lottery tickets. This sounds a little personal for you.

Only in the sense that the porn site could go defunct, be taken over by law enforcement, they post some 17-year-old's pictures at the "newest adult performer", and then a day later they scoop up all the dutifully registered clients as "pedophiles". I mean, normally, adult web sites don't want a thing to do with kids. That's not even what their clients want.

Also, what this will do is allow red states to force any folks using any kind of LGTBQ services sites to register as conservatives label anything having to do with that community as “obscene”. This is not a small ruling folks. This is the stuff that gives them the prerequisite to begin defining who is and isn’t a citizen.

…do you think child porn sites comply with user verification laws?

I’ve made this point in other threads; throughout our history when one group of adults wants to control the behavior of another group of adults where the constitution prohibits, someone invokes THE CHILDREN.
