Sanders: Time to for common ground laws: Ban all guns not used for hunting.

I support well regulated gun ownership. However in the face of abject stupidity among "conservative and very conservative" posters here i have already changed from centrist to slightly liberal.

I'm liberal. And a Democrat.

I wont be voting for Bernie.

Already, convicted felons and those with mental illness diagnoses (varies from st to st) are restricted.

What other restrictions would you like that prevent crime but do not penalize law-abiding citizens?

Let's face it gun owners are a public safety threat we need reasonable regulation. Doesn't mean you can't own a gun but safeguards are needed.

I have a 10 point plan.

a visionary leader? I think Linda Kasabian said the same thing about Charlie Manson. Many of history's most whacked out nut jobs were called "visionary leaders"

Marshall Applewhite was also caused a visionary leader by his drink the koolaid cultists. Now I am not saying LoonyBernie is a mass murder but he sure has some really goofy ideas that would do to our economy what Marshall's schemes did to the Heaven Gate cultists

He's kind of like a modern day FDR.

you keep saying that-I looked for it and the best you could do is come up with 5 points-4 of which were bat=crap insanity. Such as the fifty round limit a year.

face it-you aren't about controlling criminals but rather harassing people who don't buy into your radical socialist agenda.

The USA would have been far better off if FDR had been a one term president

he did more to piss on the constitution than Lincoln, Wilson, Truman, Nixon and W combined

I have a couple of 10 pointers on my wall... and a plan.

DON'T VOTE FOR BERNIE

Pretty simple plan, actually.

DON'T VOTE FOR BERNIE

Pretty simple plan, actually.

1) avoid goofy socialists and their worn out tax the rich-feed the pawns nonsense

2) restore the 2nd and 10th amendments

3) Commerce among the states means just that-its not a carte blanche for congress to tell individual citizens acting within their own home states what to do

4) if civilian cops have it in terms of firearms-so should every other lawful civilian

5) if its the standard arm of the US National guard its a militia useful weapon that adult citizens should be able to freely purchase, own, and use properly

6) Nuclear weapons are not "arms" nor is discussing whether private citizens should have nukes useful to any intelligent discussion

7) Criminals don't follow gun laws.

8) incarcerating criminals for doing objectively harmful things prevents them from causing more crime while they are locked up

9) laws directed at honest citizens won't deter criminals

10) laws mentioned in #9 are not crime control in any way shape or form

Let's see your plan.

I'm also curious about how much more of a public safety threat law-abiding gun-owning citizens are than personal vehicles?

personal vehicles don't tend to vote against the politicians SG wants elected. Most (not you but most) serious gun owners don't

How many children have to keep dying at the hands of wackos with guns before Republicans will cure themselves of their gun obsession?

If we ban someone for life from obtaining a gun because we believe if this person acquired a gun they would kill someone why is this person not locked up or being rehabilitated. It amazes me that people believe that denying legal access to a gun will stop a killer from killing or even obtaining a gun. I clearly cannot vote for anyone who thinks this is logical solution to stopping killers from killing. I could never vote vote for anyone that out of touch with reality. If you don't believe me release Manson back on to the streets and see how well your back ground checks stops him from killing. Unbelievable.

why is it that every gun banning poster on this board is leftwing?

why is it that gun banners always whine about dead children when most of those killed by gunfire are killed by people who cannot legally own guns and are often engaged criminal activities themselves

how come gun banners whine about guns but never ever mention that many other things (like skate boards and pools) kill far more INNOCENT children than guns owned legally by citizens

Skateboards and pools aren't designed for the sole purpose of killing. Not hard to understand brah

Oh come on-if you just pass ONE MORE law, a guy like Adam Lanza won't murder his mother and kill 25 people including mostly little children

if you passed one more law, those jihadist nutcases in San Bernardino wouldn't have made illegal pipe bombs and shot 14 innocent people to death before going down like Butch cassidy to the bolivian army

so lets see how you are thinking. SOMETHING NOT DESIGNED TO kill kills more people than firearms. SO what is more dangerous?

and to claim the sole purpose of firearms is to kill pretty much relegates anything you say on firearms to the rubbish heap since that is such a bald faced fib

How many children have to keep dying at the hands of wackos with guns before Republicans will cure themselves of their gun obsession?

How many children have to be killed or maimed in vehicle accidents every day? In the vehicles, in the crosswalks, backed over in their own driveways (horrifyingly common)?

Many developed countries use personal vehicles much less than the US and anyone that wants, here in the US, can choose a safer, personal vehicle-less lifestyle here, in order to greatly lessen that risk of death or injury to their kids. Yet how many do?

BTW why was Thai boxing developed? probably for the same reasons that the arts I studied-TKD and Silat were developed

HMMMMMMMMM

:lamo What else would you use a gun for?

Its amazing how many banners don't see the silliness of whining that guns are made for killing YET items Designed to KILL kill less people when USED INTENTIONALLY to do that than ITEMS which were never ever intended for offensive purposes. seems to me that the really dangerous item is the one that KILLS thousands without any intent on the minds of the users

I can defend myself without killing someone

sure you can-so can i but its far easier with a firearm. I don't know how old you are and at age 25 I was pretty tough and I'd walk through Central park and no one ever hassled me because I looked like someone who was tough but now 30+ years later I am glad I carry and I am a grandmaster level pistol shooter because I doubt I could handle two guys barehanded who are half my age

I'm 19 and I've never felt the need for a gun.

:lamo So you dismiss the personal liberty of sport and recreation? How about this:

You can kiss my bootie if you think those of us who enjoy our sports just like skiers or sailors or scuba divers or anything else are going to lightly give up things that add to our quality of life just because of unfounded paranoia.

If you want to be safer? Stay off the roads.
