Sanders says Arkansas in ‘dire need of federal assistance,’ but Trump says no (4 Viewers)

nope, I'm ok with no Fed aid - fair and equal treatment is what everyone should want

now if the Fed Govt was giving to some states and not other that'd be a problem

now if we all support $100 trillion deficit? than by all means give $$$$$$$$$ anytime it rains a half inch
Are you as offended by military spending, or just federal money that helps Americans?

Today (well yesterday) in the latest example of FAFO, Sarah Sanders, Trump's former WH spox from his first term, and now Gov. of Arkansas, pleads for disaster relief from the federal government.

And true to his word, Trump wants the states to handle their own disaster recovery.

Feel for those people in Arkansas who may not have voted for Trump, but I'm not sure there are alot of them. In any case, those who did, you got what you voted for.

Suckers!
Florida is going to be so ****ed.

Meanwhile fires and floods are causing other major problems in republican controlled states. Who wants to be trump's huckleberry?
Fox News will have them believing that it's all the fault of gay immigrants transitioning to compete in a swimming event against their daughters.

everyone wants $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

isn't that really what its all about ?

and is there a wonder we are $37 trillion in debt ? I agree with liberals/Democrats now ... run that debt to $100 trillion, print money ... it doesn't matter now anyway
It's very clear that you haven't a clue how macro economics work.

Get use to it. US Government is broke. The era of massive disaster relief is finally over. States are on the hook to deal with and mitigate their own risks.

If the US Government is broke then why is our President attending the Super Bowl, Daytona 500, and flying back to Mar-a-Largo for golf outings on the taxpayer's dime?
His office is in Washington DC not Florida.

/sarcasm
Guess we are no longer the United States, is that right?

LOL, now let’s see how much more in debt we will be in four years. Trump is now doing a damn thing to lower the debt

That is what happens when you privatize everything into a fee for service...they need money to pay the private contractors. You cannot build a house of cards and then whine and cry that people need cards when their house of cards collapses.

The GOP should be very scared because midterms, they're ****ed.
Imagine if in August of 2026 a hurricane wipes out Naples like hurricane Andrew did and trump tells Florida to suck it up and do it themselves. What do you imagine the polls in November would do to the GOP.

If Trump skipped THREE golf trips, that savings could make a HUGE difference for the people of my state.

But,
Trump getting to golf every other week on the tax payers' dime
is obviously more important than lives and livelihoods of everyday Americans

Republicans want to run up the debt too. Why did you single out Democrats

There does have to be some level at which we say that state and local resources are sufficient, vs widespread damage that requires federal intervention. From the description of this the damage sounds very localized - 3 dead, 'dozens' injured, 'several houses damaged', 'a half dozen trees felled', 'some headstones knocked over and a cemetery littered with debris'. That's very different than hurricanes, major flooding, fires, etc. that leave widespread damage and are beyond the capabilities of the local communities.

If anything, we probably need clearer guidance on what those lines are, and states need to implement plans to assist communities for 'smaller' emergencies.

Lie. If you can print you own money, and the value of your currency is good, then you are not broke. This is just a typical conservative alarmist bullshit. Although your boy is doing all he can to devalue the dollar.

A other con who doesn't have a clue about macro economics and how it works so he applies the notion that it's the same as a household budget.

The liberals keep saying the rich don't pay their fair share. But it doesn't matter how much any of us pay if they are just going to keep printing money.

Hes about to blow the deficit so much higher with the next round of rich guy tax cuts. He's already plummeting revenue by cutting the hell out of the IRS staffing. Just like GW Bush did.

Nope. You can't cut revenue endlessly and expect to balance a budget. /shrug
Trump blowing up the bond rates with his economic destabilization tactics is drastically increasing the debt more than anything at this point. We were borrowing debt money with a measly interest rate of around 2.5%. Now we have to pay out at around 4% to 5% to borrow money.

I fully support Trump cutting federal spending to each and every state that voted for him in 2024.

This is what the people of Arkansas deserve.
Then maybe the states that didn't vote for him should not benefit from his tax breaks.

Right?

Might as well since the states that didn't vote for him are already financially carrying the states that did. We kind of expect it at this point.
