but then it'll just be a mediocre meal
I don't get this at all. There is ZERO wrong with treating yourself and your kid to something that's not "good for you" every once in a while. Hell, I'm convinced that I have one of the healthiest diets on this forum and I eat at McDonald's at least once a month.
I don't see the point of this... not all parents buy happy meals for their kids when they go to mcdonalds. Arguably, they are taking the one thing away from the meal that isn't doing any harm to the kid.
So, you think an occasional Happy Meal with a cheeseburger, fries and Coke is doing harm to the kids?
Frankly, I think those cheap made-in-China toys with the Happy Meals are more likely to do harm to a kid than a once-monthly trip to eat McDonald's food... which is about what we limit our kids to...
This is SO stupid. Who thinks of this crap?
Who thinks of this crap? McDonald's does. And, why do they add the toy? 'Cause they know it gets kids to ask for Happy Meals which are not healthy choices.

If it's literally once a month, no, I don't.
I don't really want to get into China politics in this thread, if you don't mind...
