Russians Line Up Behind Putin
Polls and interviews show that many Russians now accept President Vladimir Putin’s contention that their country is under siege from the West and that it had no choice but to attack.
My colleagues Anton Troianovski, Ivan Nechepurenko and Valeriya Safronova report that most of the war’s opponents are leaving the country or keeping quiet. Antiwar protests, which led to more than 15,000 arrests across Russia in the first weeks of the war, have largely petered out.
A poll released this week by Russia’s most respected independent pollster, Levada, showed Putin’s approval rating hitting 83 percent, up from 69 percent in January. A whopping 81 percent said they supported the war.
And he's probably insisting upon being payed by Putin in rubles too. You've been "standing behind Putin" since before the invasion.

Or assuming Trump's former position of kneeling in front. And he's probably insisting upon being payed by Putin in rubles too.
Why would we believe Russian polls and staged interviews? Almost seems like the NYT is on Putin's side here.Russians are standing behind Putin, and rallying around the war:

When your life is contained to a bubble that is controlled by Putin, you don't have much else to go by. Putin is lying to his citizens. They have been brainwashed to believe that Ukraine is the aggressor. 100% false propaganda. They haven't started counting the body bags yet. When they do, it will change.Russians are standing behind Putin, and rallying around the war:

Exactly. Don't think the Russian people want to spend 15 years of their lives in jailSo what? When you lie to people and threaten them if they don't agree with you, of course they're going to "line up" behind you. People with guns pointed at their heads will usually go wherever the holder of the gun wants them to go.
EXACTLY!!!Let's see... if I'm a Russian I have two choices: Stand behind Putin or go to jail.
Not a tough call.
In a country where even publicly saying the word WAR or protesting will get you 15 years in prison what else would you expect of a 'poll' done asking Russian citizens how they feel about Putin?
I think a better term would be 'he's been bending over in front of Putin' since before the invasion...You've been "standing behind Putin" since before the invasion.
Look up some of his threads from before the invasion. Pure RT propaganda and lies.I think a better term would be 'he's been bending over in front of Putin' since before the invasion...
