Does this mean that old brainwashed fauxies can now fly to Russia to help with the illegal invasion of Ukraine?

If the situation gets worse then Ukraine might have no choice but to welcome many more foreign volunteers. New recruits would probably be allowed to train in their home countries' reserve forces beforehand. After all most countries of the world are allies of Ukraine.

Ukraine isn't illegally invading Russia, so that's a bit different.

Ukraine could also buy civilian aircraft from the private market and convert them into aerial bombers. They'd suffice as artillery pieces to shoot on land targets but might not be good for air-to-air missions.

"The US has provided spare parts that have allowed Ukraine to put more jets into service, but so far no one has delivered jets to Kyiv. Now a group of Ukrainian volunteers is taking that search into their own hands, creating a crowdfunding campaign called "Buy Me a Fighter Jet" to raise money for the jets."

I think Ukraine might have to cede some territory in the future but they could do so after they attempt to reclaim as much land as they can in the present. Then they could negotiate on a higher footing. However they're up against an exponentially larger opponent and giving up territory might prevent Russia expanding even further into Ukraine.

'In the letter signed Sabina Coyne Higgins, she said until the world persuades Russia and Ukraine to agree to a ceasefire and negotiations, "the long haul of terrible war will go on".'

The Ukrainians have stated numerous times that they have no intention of ceding any of their land, including Crimea.

The way Ukraine sometimes seemed to prefer military aid over foreign volunteers could help inform the conscription policies of other countries. In a capitalistic society every penny earned is there as a reward for contributing to the economy. So as long as you work hard or pay tax you'll have indirectly funded the war effort. Low-paid workers are also necessary in society even if they're not carrying out critical non-military roles like being a doctor or an engineer. Needless to say it's more helpful to give your life to a cause but being in the sidelines isn't useless.

"At the start of World War I, Admiral Charles Fitzgerald, who was a strong advocate of conscription wanted to increase the number of those enlisting in the armed forces. Therefore he organized on 30 August 1914 a group of thirty women in his home town of Folkestone to hand out white feathers to any men that were not in uniform...
In Britain, it started to cause problems for the government when public servants and men in essential occupations came under pressure to enlist. That prompted Home Secretary Reginald McKenna to issue employees in state industries with lapel badges reading "King and Country" to indicate that they were serving the war effort."

The further into western Ukraine they invade into, the greater the persection risk for Ukrainian civilians under occupation. Russia will likely extort and exploit all of the civilians that remain in their captured hometowns. Western Ukrainians might appear more foreign to the Russians and as such are more vulnerable to racist propoganda if they are colonised. However the fact that many eastern Ukrainians speak Russian might help to tame Russia's aggression towards them and prevent expulsion or ethnic cleansing.

The only difference is that there are more Ukrainian speakers in Western Ukraine. All are Ukrainian citizens from border to border.

That's a crock of crap. Russia flattened Mariupol and has killed many thousands of Russian speakers in eastern and southern Ukraine where they predominate.

If Ukraine suspects that Russia will ever carry out ethnic cleansing in occupied eastern Ukraine then another option is to abandon ship and tell eastern Ukrainians to move into western Ukraine. In other words don't wait for a possible expulsion order from Russia if you fear for your life.

Ukraine lacks the means to attack military targets in mainland Russia. As such Putin won't face significant domestic opposition to his war. If land and not life is the objective then Ukraine would almost need a kamikaze effort of a million soldiers to retake every inch of stolen land.

Last week Zelenskyy ordered Ukrainians to evacuate Donbas.

No, the US won't permit Ukraine to attack military targets in Russia proper. At least not with US supplied weapons.

Another option for Ukraine is to buy copious amounts of civilian helicopters and to stick a few machine gun mounts on them. The same could be said for boats and hovercraft. Military aircraft might be inaccessible to Ukraine due to fears about retaliation against the seller from Russia. However the civilian market is largely unregulated

Ukraine needs more A2/AD systems to operate both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

US Harpoons and HIMARS are protecting Odesa. The immediate main task at hand is to liberate Kherson onblast.

Ukraine might need to countenance collateral damage of Ukrainian civilians by their own artillery if they seek to retake land. Unfortunately friendly fire may be the lesser of two evils if Russian forces are concentrated near civilians.

The armour of tanks protect their crew from bullets but artillery and mortar teams are exposed. As such snipers could play a critical role in disarming Russian artillery brigades. This might be a helfpful role to fill for small units and two-man teams of foreign volunteers.

Which is why Zelenskyy ordered Ukrainian civilians to flee Donbas if possible.

The civilians in Kherson are more or less Russian hostages and human shields.

Drones play a more crucial role, by first locating and then destroying, either by gridding targets for artillery strikes or via suicide drones that contain an explosive and crash into their target.

Fill a standard 747 plane with explosives and you could fly it like a kamikaze plane. If you put it on autopilot then the pilots could parachute out before it crashes.

Faster civilian planes like the CEO millionaire planes could work as bombers well behind enemy lines:

Light aircraft could be revamped into WW2 fighters:

They'd be vulnerable to all enemy missiles and planes. Nonetheless they could survive if they were protected by a faster jet or extensive allied ground defences.

I have a feeling modern Western fighter jets are in Ukraine's near-term future.

Movies are easy to watch but they require tonnes of hard work and thousands of staff to produce them. As such their educational value shouldn't be overlooked. For example the scene below tries to replicate the tone of the Balkan conflict. This war was fought under different circumstances to the war in Ukraine but the landscape and climate are similar. Even if we can't speak in masculine eastern European languages we could still try to mimic their accents!

I'm not saying that video games should be your primary training method. Nonetheless they do allow you to practice your tactics stress-free:

"Simulations and gaming are nothing new to training in the Army. Tank crews train in multiple virtual environments including using the Close Combat Tactical Trainer and Advanced Gunnery Training Systems... Over the last few weeks these Troopers have been conducting various training events using an online game which simulates various military equipment including tanks."

Never visited the Balkans, But I have lived in Ukraine.

Sunny and hot summers. Overcast and cold winters.

The Brexit saga has being going on for years and the only real issue at stake is a discrepancy in tax policy. Yet Putin watched Theresa May fly to Africa in a desperate bid to find trade partners and somehow felt that Russia needed to follow suit. What type of trade deal with the EU could Putin possibly hope for after invading their key ally? Putin hopes to be remembered as a great military leader. Yet he made an initial blunder in sending a convoy to Kiev only to be forced into retreat. This served to cement heavy international support for Ukraine in a way far greater than had he started with a partial invasion. Ukraine never arranged to host foreign military bases in their country and so Putin's claim of NATO aggression is unfounded. Russia is far from communist these days which makes the pro-EU sentiment of Ukraine relatively harmless. Russia with their many oligarchs is a more unequal country than their Cold War foe of America in terms of wealth and power. Russia has the largest landmass out of all the countries in the world and yet their population is a fraction the size of India or China. This makes any Robin Hood notion of their invasion utter rubbish. Any land they occupy will be a permanent reminder to all countries not to trade with them in a way that'll be more visible than the crimes of other rogue nations.

Video games are found to improve hand-eye coordination in those who play often.
