The only negative implication is that Putin may be feeling less and less stable as this whole thing blows up in his face.
His mistreated citizens, in an even more mistreated army, oppose the war just as long as the citizen in question has finally received the truth.
His army, treated like absolute garbage as it is, was lied to and is being asked to murder children; to shell preschools.
Conscripts, treated worse, are being used as fodder.
His attempt to insulate Russia from sanctions was not nearly good enough, and China does not seem to want to help; because while China is a rival, it does not actually want a return to the Cold War.
A far smaller force, armed instead with righteous fury and thoughts of protecting their families, resists them with souls afire.
The only problems here are that Russia has a shitload to the power of ****loads of nukes, and chemical weapons. Probably bio, too. An embarrassed and hopeless Putin facing the potential failure of an invasion he falsely told his people was about helping Ukraine rid itself of Nazis is a dangerous Putin.
It's not often that good news carries new serious worries.
