There was a multi-year FBI investigation, the Mueller team. After over 2000 hours of interviews and 1.5 Million documents, the Mueller report exonerated Trump of colluding with Russia. The Mueller was, quoting a law professor here, "an exoneration" of collusion with Russia. The exact wording was

1. Was a misinformation document, the Steele Dossier
2. There were fraudulently obtained FISA warrants
3. There was an FBI investigation in great depth
4. Following all of the above, there was an exoneration.

The allegation that caused such controversy, was the allegation that Trunp conspired with Russia in those efforts.

The argument of Mueller was that Trump could not be charged as president.
Well...? The fact that he has not been charged with obstruction since leaving office shows how weak the allegations were.

that does not matter one wit... russia interfering with our elections is diabolical , no doubt, but no one has proven TRump and his administration colluded, conspired , whatever with them in any way.
