Run on the Russian banks after interest rate is hiked to TWENTY per cent in desperate bid to stop rouble crashing: Western sanctions continue to savag

They have nukes.

This is the scenario everyone has been worried about: a nuclear power with a crazy man in charge.

This is just saber rattling, a stunt primarily to keep the Russian people stirred up, because a whole lot of them don’t like what he is doing in Ukraine.

why china will help moscow imperialists i dont understand

Because they are planning to do the same in Taiwan, and like the precedent being set.

I'd like to see the USA forced from Iraq, they obviously won't be leaving voluntarily.

Nice to see Putin feeling the strain tho.
Newsflash: They only troops left are for advisement. No more combat troops.

I hope you're right and that's all this is. Pretty scary stuff. After 4 years of watching Trump and now watching Putin, one thing I am learning is never think a crazy guy can't possibly get any crazier.

just watch this video from a small occupied city , Moscow hordes in Ukraine will collapse in 3. 4 days. how ans why china will help moscow imperialists i dont understand

Also, maybe there is a langauge barrier here. I'm not saying that China will help Russia in the war with Ukraine, I'm saying tnat China will help Putin keep his dictatorship after the war in Ukraine is over.

In the short/long term, Ukraine has established itself the hard way, and it will be a long time before anyone decides to **** with Ukraine again.

I just hope that you are able to gain back Crimea when it is all said and done, either through negotiation of force.

LOL. There are only "combat troops". No other kind.

Iraq has asked repeatedly for the USA to leave its country. I stand with the Freedom Fighters in Iraq E. I'd like to see them drive the occupier out of their lands quite honestly.(y)

BREAKING : Japan PM Kishida: To join sanction on Russian central bank, limiting transactions. #Japan #Russia #Ukraine #RussiaUkraineConflict
This is what the West needs, support for sanctions from an Asian economic superpower, Jaoan

Biden made a few calls😉

South Korea fully supporting sanctions would really tighten the grip. Unsure of there policy on the situation. As S Korea has enjoyed American protection for quite sometime, it's time to call for a favor earned.

Let's see what YOU look like.

I've been told many times that I am somewhat of a mix of George Clooney and Brad Pitt, only with much larger genitalia than either of those two.(y)

Iraq had asked all combat troops to leave which they did.

So you're an ISIS supporter? You wouldn't mind if ISIS came back?

Why are you hiding behind a picture of JFK then?

Yeah sure. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: At least you have a sense of humor.

The last guy that bragged about the size of his genitalia was our last president. A porn star revealed it was more like a tiny mushroom.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Dude, that is SOOOO 2006.

Sounds like a story about the "boogeyman".

"Be good and support 'Murcan FrEeDuMbZ$™ in Iraq boys and girls, because if you dont "ISIS" is going to come back and gobble you up...GRRRR!!!!!!!!"

FFS. I dont belong here, I keep saying this.😧

You don't agree that when we pulled troops out of Iraq the last time, ISIS took hold?

No, more info :

No they will not. I'm sorry for the spoilers.

China has no interest in attacking a nuclear armed Russia. I don't even think China would attack if Russia didn't have a nuclear arsenal.

China WILL circumvent sanctions to make Putin and Russia dependent on Chinaese commerce, though.

I "agree" that if it weren't for the moronic, inhuman, and despicable actions of the USA in Iraq, there never would have so much as been a group called "ISIS" in existence.

But this is by design, IMO, the more death and havoc that the USA causes in the Mid East, the more dysfunction and chaos is sown, the better it is for Israel and also for oil FrEeDuMbZ$™. Gotta get Exxon-Mobil friendly puppet "governments" in, and eliminate enemies of Israel all at the same time.

This is great.
I don't know that it is. I deeply suspect that that the belief that sanctions will cause a rift between him and his oligarchs is wishcasting as best or irrelevant even if true. That sort of rift wouldn't have any kind of short term, beneficial return, and it doesn't in any sense address the relationship between him and his generals, which is the actual immediate threat.

In fact, I would say that global sanctions are seen by Putin as an existential threat to Russia itself, which is exactly the type of thing he would escalate his nuclear readiness over.

Arming Ukraine to the teeth is one thing -- that's an attack on Putin's invasion. But these sanctions are an attack on Russia. I think we may be on the most dangerous ground ever, easily surpassing the Cuban missile crisis itself.

Well gee I guess you can't please everybody. One group of people is complaining the sanctions are not enough and the other groups says we are risking a nuclear holocaust by doing them. Damned if you do damned if you don't!

How can you agree with me if I don't agree with you? :ROFLMAO:

That said, I believe we should never have been in Iraq in the first place. It was also an illegal invasion. I'll give you that. The U.S. has little higher moral ground to stand on. However Iraq is Iraq. This thread is about an illegal land grab by Putin.

Well obviously. But I'm making distinctions about short term vs long term effectiveness, and what the measures are perceived attacks on. In both cases, increased measures to repel the attack are good because they're specific and have near term positive results. The sanctions and the near-total international isolation of Russia make us feel good, but they don't have short term positive results (which are the kind we need), and do in fact make Putin's existential anxiety a thousand times worse.

This brings us back to the "Where's Putin's off ramp?" question that was first brought up two days ago.
