this was a shock to hear
when asked by Glenn Beck about Clinton as Sec of State

his response was

"Policy will remain the same. Foreign policy is dictated by people who control both the Republican & Democratic parties, I do not see it changing "

Ron Paul and his affiliates are crazy. This Ron Paul backed group, named Campaign for Liberty, is going to stage waterboarding on campus during an Obama rally.

The Council on Foreign Relations, he refers to.

most everybody knows there is a power behind the throne pulling the strings
I just would not expect to hear a sitting congressman say it point blank

Are you too young to remember "Wag the Dog?"

Corporatism and it's interests will always rule. and many people have said it, not just Ron Paul. you just don't hear it from the corporate media.

I'm not sure I understand your surprise. It's no secret our government is under the thumb of special interest groups and the like. A sitting President even made reference to such a concept...

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together."
-President Eisenhower.

I'm getting awfully sick and tired of this nonsense. Perhaps you would like to substantiate your idiotic claim by engaging one of his "crazy" supporters in a true debate on his mental status? Hint...that crazy person would be me. If not, I would ask you to retract your statement and act with a semblance of maturity.

He isn't the only one:
"The high office of President has been used to foment a plot to destroy the Americans freedom, and before I leave office I must inform the citizen of his plight." -- JFK

while it is common knowledge among most, i find it amusing that both examples given to back this up span decades :)

To be honest...for many years I had some growing suspicions if there was a core group truly controlling foreign relations etc...and the President was just a symbol kinda like the Queen in England...I wasn't sure so I kept those curious thoughts to myself.

What raised my suspicions was when I gave it some deep thought on how do we maintain such an even Foreign Relations course with each new Presidential personality?

The Council on Foreign Relations.

"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. ... The means of defense against foreign danger historically have become the instruments of tyranny at home..If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be under the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." -- President James Madison

War on Terrorism all the way. Sounds like a great plan to me! Terror is not something one can force another to cause. Terror is the reaction of the terrified.

I think the quote went over your head:doh

The quote is certainly true. Is this in conspiracy theories because the nutters latched onto it? Because it should be moved out of here and discussed.

Can we discuss about the Council on Foreign Relations and how it works outside of the conspiracy area?

Ron Paul and his affiliates are crazy.
Crazy for calling "bull****" when they see it? I'm fine with being considered crazy.

This Ron Paul backed group, named Campaign for Liberty, is going to stage waterboarding on campus during an Obama rally.
Awareness... :2wave:

Well, Ron Paul is crazy, it's just that this quote isn't really representative of that, because it's true.

Not quite... Ron Paul is not crazy, he was a THREAT to the establishment so the MSM called him crazy among other things to ensure that he was not elected.

Do you believe there is a Council on Foreign Relations?

it's not possible... the 'crazy leftists' made that up... they even made a fake website to further the lie...
