BS! It's abundantly clear that DeSantis said that if you feel uncomfortable while mindlessly or stubbornly driving straight ahead into a riot, you can use your vehicle as a lethal weapon, the state will just look the other way. It's a license to murder.

Well there was someone in Charlottesville that sped away from attacks while he was in his car and he faced criminal charges I think he went to jail.

So apparently this needs to be made into law or you support attacking people for driving cars not liking the idiots throwing a fit in the street.

BS! James Alex Fields Jr. deliberately drove his car into a crowd of people peacefully protesting the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia; he wasn't speeding away from any attack whatsoever.
 
Stupids in the USA now. My thoughts are 2025 Mafia is in charge now.

Fixing it is up to Courts and Congress.

I have already said what is meant in another post. It has to do with being threatened. If there is a crowd of people surrounding your car and you feel threatened, you have the right to flee.

Why is that so difficult?

It's only going to hurt them. Spread the word there needs to be laws against wearing a mask when you're protesting if you're not trying to hurt people or steal stuff or do anything nefarious you don't need a mask.

If masks were banned this would be over tomorrow.

870.07 Affirmative defense in civil action; party convicted of riot.—
(1) In a civil action for damages for personal injury, wrongful death, or property damage, it is an affirmative defense that such action arose from an injury or damage sustained by a participant acting in furtherance of a riot. The affirmative defense authorized by this section shall be established by evidence that the participant has been convicted of a riot or an aggravated riot prohibited under s. 870.01, or by proof of the commission of such crime by a preponderance of the evidence.
(2) In a civil action in which a defendant raises an affirmative defense under this section, the court must, on motion by the defendant, stay the action during the pendency of a criminal action that forms the basis for the defense, unless the court finds that a conviction in the criminal action would not form a valid defense under this section.

So it's not about protesters it's specifically about rioters. And it's used as an affirmative defense meaning the burden of proof is on you to show that this defensive act was necessary or called for.

So everything about your thread title is an absolute lie you didn't even read the law.

This is the tactic. Strike fear into the populace. Keep everyone home.

A responsible governor would be stressing peaceful protest. DeSantis is essentially threatening his own constituents by enabling his other constituents to commit violence.

Pretty sick shit.
