Nobody likes poor people. Why are they poor in the first place here in America? Stupid? Lazy? Or both?

Show me a poor person who suddenly becomes rich who would want to hang out with poor people. Just doesn't happen.

Most of left progressive socialism is all about jealousy, and not about justice.

Do we feel sorry for rich people? Since Joe and a democratic house and senate are sure to raise taxes that rich people pay.

trump cut taxes for the rich. A rich man making a million dollars a year saw $69,900 dollars in tax savings every year.

How about poor people pay just 1 dollar?

Just 1

I think everyone needs to be prepared to pay more, a lot more, in taxes.

Yes, we need to bail out/enable the past and present politicians who put us in 27.5 Trillion in debt

Nice

Keep up the good work

SomeCents. let's hope that the House and Senate members pass modest spending bills.

We don't need lavish spending during the next two to four years.

:ROFLMAO:. Thats too funny.

A rich man making $1 million is not a very rich man. What do you mean is that small and medium is this owners will be shafted. The massive tech oligarchs who are in league with the deep state will still not be taxed.

I hope you have deep pockets my friend because you and I are getting ready to pay a lot more.

Rich people got their unnecessary tax cuts that didn't stimulate the economy in 2020.

It's time for rich people to pay higher taxes in order to minimize the Deficit.

No

Its time for those who pay NOTHING to pay something(wink)

The tech companies are headquartered on some of the most valuable land anywhere. Tax 100% of its market value. That simple.

When the swamp creatures raise taxes on the rich, they are only hurting the middle class and poor. It's not rocket science. When you raise taxes on the rich, the rich simply hide a large portion of their wealth in tax shelters, rather then investing it in a way that creates jobs.

We remain the most powerful nation on earth that everyone wants to come to.

We have lots of problems but it could be worse

Vegas, why on earth would they want to leave their socialist medicine?

Property taxes discourage productive use of the land because the more you improve it the more you get taxed. Land value tax will punish the speculators who sit on a site for decades without developing it.

They are same thing.

Doesn't help when the GOP continuously cut taxes on the wealthy. Please tell me how is a tax cut any different than the government cutting a check? If everyone saw the government literally handing the wealthy checks there would be riots.

No they aren't.

Unlike property taxes, it disregards the value of buildings, personal property and other improvements to real estate. ... A land value tax is a progressive tax, in that the tax burden falls on titleholders in proportion to the value of locations, the ownership of which is highly correlated with overall wealth and income.

We have a spending problem

Not a tax problem

Land is not. Tax the land.
My land is already overtaxed! My property taxes are ridiculous. I think Biden will give everyone of us a tax increase, but the worst "tax" will be on energy prices. I think they'll skyrocket. Either way, we're screwed.

Transitioning from property tax to land value tax can be done in a way that is revenue neutral (how do you like the idea of lower taxes on your home?). It will lessen the tax burden on most homeowners while putting the greater burden on those who fail to utilize valuable commercial property.

Do you really think President Biden is going to shoot his golden goose?

He might raise the corporate tax rate, but he isn't going to eliminate tax loopholes. The rich will move their money into safe havens, and you will make up the slack.

Of course, the working stiff's probably won't see a big hit directly in their paychecks, but they will pay more through other necessities like gasoline, power bills, hospital equipment, etc. etc. etc.

Sounds exactly like a property tax, except it simply doesn't include the value of the improvements. Or are you saying property should be taxed twice?

We 100% have a tax problem. The tax burden is becoming greater for the middle/working class while the wealth gap only grows. Home ownership is only becoming more difficult to attain for young families. It is unsustainable.
