I strongly disagreed with Covid vaccine mandates - and my posts on this forum can verify. I don’t think the government has any business forcing people to make any medical decisions. Period. Across the board. Recommend? Educate? Assure safety? Yes. Mandate? No.
The military? Yes. It’s voluntary enlistment and when you sign up, you know that they make medical mandates as a part of the job. (Frankly, I find it amusing how many people were willing to lose their jobs over a COVID vaccine but took an anthrax vaccine no problem…but I digress)
Employers such as hospitals? Yes. You work with patients and around immune compromised individuals, etc. it’s standard practice that healthcare employers require medical treatments.
Other private employers? I’ve strongly advised companies AGAINST the policy. And, I’ve also confirmed with others that it was a good idea - it depended upon their line of business and whether they had similar requirements for prior vaccinations like flu, etc.
Schools? College campuses and living in campus and attending classes on campus? Yes. Again - they have policies frequently in regards to meningitis vaccines, flu, etc - so Covid was nothing extraordinary. Otherwise - not unless and until it was added to a childhood vaccine recommended schedule (and it never has been)
As for “ruined safeguard” etc - that’s simply untrue.
The science behind the Covid vaccines was solid. I can appreciate and respect individuals making their own decisions regarding a Covid vaccine. *IF* and here is the caveat - IF they respected other people around them. I took the J&J vaccine (luck of the draw). My mother mRNA - whatever they had at the mass vaccine clinic they held here.
So, vaccinate or don’t - I don’t care. Never did.
But stop spewing lies about safety of vaccines. Just say “I don’t understand”
