Republicans don’t want Mitt Romney to go away mad but they do, it seems, want him to go away.

Republicans to Mitt Romney: Exit stage left

From the piece:

"“We have got to stop dividing American voters,” said Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. “I absolutely reject that notion, that description … We’re fighting for 100 percent of the vote.” Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker added that the Republican party isn’t “just for people who are currently not dependent on the government.”

True colors, once again are exposed about Mitt and the core of the GOP. It does seem to match so much of what I read here - especially the not so subtle bias against minorities which for Mitt now includes anyone under 29!

What an ahole Mitt Romney is. Thank the Lord that we were all spared his elitist, racist bs.

Remember how Ryan said Romney didn't really mean what he said about the alleged 47% of Americans who want free stuff. Now, after the election, Romney repeats his insult. I wonder what Ryan's explanation is now. Romney didn't mean what he said, again?

Was he racist against the 47%? I mean, how? it is beyond my understanding.

But no, this is nothing else than the republican party doing what every political party does. Weed out the failures as much as it can.

Did you also hear what Ryan said about why they lost? He said:

“The surprise was some of the turnout, some of the turnout especially in urban areas, which gave President Obama the big margin to win this race,” Mr. Ryan said in an interview with WISC-TV back home in Wisconsin"

In other words "Minorities" voted more than our GOP biased pollsters said they would!

Do you think the GOP hate Nate Silver as much as they hate all the Democrats who want "free stuff"?

I think many Republicans, including Romney and Ryan speak in code. They talk about "Free Stuff" or "Too Many Urban Voters" or The Dream Act was a ploy to get Latino votes.

Think of it this way, maybe? Think how many Republicans have come out since the election saying that they have to make a better effort to reach minorities and IMHO they say it in a way that suggests that it's unnatural for them to connect one on one with "them" - as if "they're" not speaking English or something.

For me, if I'm getting told that I need to show papers to prove I'm an American I'm pretty pissed off at the person asking the question not to mention the lawmakers who wrote the bill.

Yep, Ryan was dogwhistling to his racist base. That's about all conservatives have left.

The sore loser aspect since the election ended is the most severe I've ever seen by either party and not just at the Presidential level. Case in point is that crazy Alan West who has LOST yet he is so classless that he refuses to concede and instead is trying to find a way to cheat his way back into the race. He lost, it's over yet he's in the news everyday complaining.

Look how crazy some of the Republicans are? Romney, Trump, West, McCain, Graham. Have you also noticed that in the state of Arizona 9 days after the election more than 300K votes have not yet been counted and there are several congressional elections undecided and Jeff Flake's apparent win actually might not be since so many votes are uncounted. His opponent is now wondering if he conceded too soon which I understand but he did concede when told he had lost...something West apparently will never do.

Do you know who else who never conceded? Nixon in 1960

He's not running for office anymore, he doesn't seem to be the type that will continue to have pull in a political party, so what overall use is the Governor?

Wrong. the core of the GOP never trusted him. Where have you been all this time? Jindal and Walker represents more of the "core" than Mitt Romney ever did, he was just a massachusetts liberal who didn't give a **** about what he had to do to become president.

This was the most obvious **** in the world. The GOP tied itself to him all the way until the end, now they're running like hell in the other direction, and they should. Romney needs to zip his mouth and retire to one of his several houses.

The thing is, if you read the story it points out that the GOP do not have any elder statesman they can call on to help a la Bill Clinton. The idea they would ask Bush 43 for help is so funny! How rare is it that a former President - the last one from your party is banned from attending even the convention?

Maybe they should tie him to the roof of a his car and drive him to Canada? Change his name to SHAME US ---- HA!

The previous complaint was that they had too many elder statesmen to use and that the party would always go to the standard bearer.

FWIW Governor Bush and McDonnell have both said things to the effect that the Republican party needs to reach out and face demographics.

I still wouldn't vote for them (unless they ran on a platform of lgbt rights, single payer healthcare, and infrastructure rebuilding) but the fact is some realize that they cant be angry old white protestants forever.

One of the big problems with the GOP, is that they do represent a minority. They don't connect with the majority of Americans. And they don't understand the plight of most Americans. They've been born with the proverbial silver spoon in their mouth, they don't know what it's like to struggle to survive. The lower and middle classes, the root and base of American society, have nothing in common with the Republican party's ideas. This is why they duped Christians into thinking that the GOP was the party of god, and that Jesus of Nazareth was a gun-toting, white skinned, rich socialite, who was Republican to the bone. Again, Christianity was manipulated for political reasons. This is why they invented the non-issues of gay marriage and abortion. But now, many Christians are starting to realize that they were duped into following a political party that didn't have their interests at heart, not to mention the interests of the American people. And like a child trying to hold onto a toy that his parents are trying to throw away, the conservatives are trying to hold onto something that has long outlived it's usefulness.

I wonder how many people who are shying away from Romney on this site were terriers at his side during the election.

It's funny how even the GOP did a complete 180 after the primaries. Most Republicans didn't want to see Romney as the GOP candidate, yet after he was elected to that position, they changed their minds quick. Since my area of expertise and study is religion, I've kept up mostly with the religious aspects of this election season. And you could see it amongst Republican evangelicals and fundamentalists. They didn't want Romney because he is a Mormon. Yet, after he was elected, all of the sudden he was the only salvation for America. Now, it's back to the beginning. It's all just one big laugh-fest with them.

Yeah all you have to do is promise more free stuff and you get elected. Be damned who has to pay for it, as long as it is not you. However according to you tax the rich, anything you want just go get it from the rich. But I have to ask how is that working out for you, with a 16 trillion dollar national debt and Obama adding a trillion a yr more for the next 4 yrs. And you say go tax those rich bastards. Yeah, go after those rich bastards and keep stealing their money for your free stuff, and see how fast they leave this country. All you have to do is look in the paper and see how those stupid idiots in Europe are wandering in the streets looking for free stuff that ain't there anymore. Talk about coolaid drinkers. Yeah they wanted all the free stuff but did not want to pay for a thing, just like you.

What a deluded, absurd attitude you have revealed yourself to have. It is a cry from the very worst segment of our society. But, sadly, a segment which has found it's champion happens to reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. and so those with this affliction are running free, so to speak.

I'm reminded of Communist China's cultural revolution under Mao where the Red Guard roamed the country murdering and imprisoning and trturing anyone with an education.

Elections have consequences and the fact that someone like you, with that kind of mentality, now feels free enough to express such ugliness on these pages is evidence that the consequences of the 2012 election haven't even begun to be felt in this country. But rest assured, the consequences will have a detrimental impact on us all.

We will regret re-electing Barack Obama.

The funny thing is Nixon looks downright reasonable compared to these knownothings and Ayn Rand fanatics.

And your post shows that bigotry and the idea that not all people deserve civil liberties is still strong amongst conservatives.

Like rats on a sinking ship. Distancing themselves from what they perceive as a problem. They are the problem. If they weren't? Where were they a month ago??
