Republicans Now Have Lowest Approval Rating In Poll History

I was referring to cutting taxes while continuing to spend.

The GOP forgot they were supposed to stop spending too.

Oh I agree 100%. Sending trillions to the rich through tax cuts while borrowing to cover the shortfall should have been an impeachable offense......especially since it was the first time in our nation's history it had been done.

It is absolutely terrifying that Republicans look at all this as evidence that the GOP should run further to the right.

Democrats? Who's trying to take away benefits for the elderly, health care, cut spending on entitlements while increasing defense spending to support their big defense contractors like Halliburton and General Dynamics etc. The Republican party has drifted further to the right than during the McCarthy era and that's some serious ****.

You mean like being financially responsible.

I have always said liberals think there is an endless supply of money to spend.

The ones starving during the Reagan years were the poor, homeless folks who were released from state mental institutions when their funding was cut.

And now under Obama we have more poor than ever.

Are you aware that the Democrats agreed to the spending levels demanded by the GOP, just without the delay of the ACA?

Are you aware, the debt ceiling is a whole different deal. You should know Obama voted against raising the debt ceiling, you surly remember Obama saying this. How Obama has changed to now the biggest spender in US History.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a Sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. ...Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here'. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and Grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

SENATOR BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, MARCH 2006

I don't think it is terrifying to democrats, they are loving it. the further from main stream America the GOP retreats, the more voters that dems pick up.

I think what is terrifying is that republicans are too stupid to figure this stuff out.

there actually is. Maybe not an endless supply, but the same money can be spend an unlimited number of times. It's not like it ever actually gets "used up", or we have to toss in in the trash because it has met it's expiration date.

What there is not, is an unlimited amount of human resources. but until we have maxed out the production of all human resources worldwide, we really don't have to worry about that. Even when we do max out human production, we can always make more robots.

In terms of raw numbers, yes, because we have more people under Obama than we ever had.

In terms of poverty rate, you're wronger than wrong.

Ha! I beat you to it. But at least you did provide a more complete answer, and even included visuals. two thumbs up.

Yes, I am aware of the repeated hypocrisy taken by both parties regarding debt ceilings. The minority party always says it's irresponsible to raise the debt ceiling, and the majority party always says it's necessary. Every time.

And now under Obama we have more poor than ever.

The goddam Republicans have blocked every jobs bill the president wanted.

The spending is down...lowest in decades, the deficit has been cut in half in the last five years, etc. Considering Bush's two wars, doubling the national debt and leaving an economy bleeding 750,000 jobs a month just wait till Bush's other war is over and no telling what might happen. In my lifetime I've never seen or heard of leaders being so out of touch with reality as they were on this day, May 1, 2003.....'course I'm just 79:

Reported By Fox News, May 2003:
"In an announcement marking a major victory in America's ongoing war on terror, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld declared Thursday that "major combat activity" has ended in Afghanistan. Later in the day, from aboard an aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean, President Bush planned to announce that military combat is over in Iraq."

Not to worry. They are just going to run the ball out of bounds and the game will be over. Out of the ashes will come reason again.

The Dems have certainly had their share of just utterly batsh*t people in elected office on a national level -- Feinstein, Waters, McKinney come to mind right off the bat. But honestly, in 30 years of being cognizant of politics and 20 of really following it, I can't remember any nationally prominent Congresscritters as bugnuts as Louie Gohmert, Steve King and Michele Bachmann.

We NEED a decent conservative party. We do. Yes, liberals can be a little loose with the pocketbook, to put it mildly. What we have now is a fractured caucus of a few pragmatic types who don't see it as heresy to TALK TO THE OTHER PARTY; a decent chunk of Dominionist Christian nutbars who think all that is happening portends the goddamn rapture; a tiny few who read Atlas Shrugged and thought it made a lick of sense; and your normal opportunists who are just out to grift a few bucks on the taxpayers' dime.

And the Dems aren't a whole hell of a lot better.

Islam is the least popular religion. The reason I know is because I asked all the people at my church what their favorite religion was. None of them even mentioned Islam.

Polls are very insightful and should be regarded as a perfect representation of reality.

Feel free to demonstrate how the poll's sample was not representative of the population. The data is all there fore you to do so.

My comment was, "Polls are very insightful and should be regarded as a perfect representation of reality." I don't see how this suggest that a poll's sample is not represenative of the population. I said it in perfect English.

Republican approval rating falls to lowest point in Gallup poll history | Politics Blog | an SFGate.com blog

Just 28 percent of Americans have a favorable impression of the GOP.

The number is 10 points lower than the party scored in the same poll in September.

They should give thanks to such T Party powerhouses as Ted Cruz and Michelle Bachman.

Shutdown: Americans prefer zombies, hemorrhoids, IRS to Congress - latimes.com

Americans currently have a higher opinion of witches (46/32), jury duty (73/18) and hemorrhoids (53/31) than Congress. Republicans seem much more accepting of Congress over hemorrhoids compared to other voters -- 41% favored Congress more than the diseases, as opposed to only 25% of Democrats and 27% of Independents.

Even government institutions like the DMV and the IRS are seen as more favorable than Congress currently, at 58/24 and 42/33 respectively. Almost twice as many Republicans still support Congress over the IRS (48/25), while only 23% of Democrats do (23/59).

Yeah, but the Pubbies still have a virtual lock on the House in 2014. Many people are unhappy with them because they're not sticking it to the President enough. Those people won't be voting Democrat. Conservatism is at an all time high right now. And I do thank the President for that.

Yeah....Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz are really bent out of shape.

Cruz and Palin sharing the stage with Larry Klayman today will be played out in ads against Repubs for the next 12 months..
McCain is now doing a U-turn, right on time, and accusing Dems of trying to humiliate Repubs.

That's appropriate because the American people have drifted further to the right than they have been in a long time. The House is closest to the people, which is why they are granted the Power of the Purse in the Constitution. It is high time that they started using that power to bring the overweening spending plans of the other branches of government to screeching halt.

why do you fly that upside down flag? you know this is a free country and you can always leave... because you are not going to take it over....the confederate way of life is gone boss.....respect the flag if you are a true american
